So ever since i seen this car from jd ive always wanted to have it. Its a fairly simple car nothing to crazy but theres a few custom parts he made, which is what i liked about the simple car. Jd did alot of the custom milling for his AE teammates....

Yes, can we get someone to re pull the P35? I have several chassis that remain naked without them. I thought that car was really neat and clean as well. Will be neat to see your progress👍
Is it a 235mm body and do you have pictures...
I've had this car sitting in a bin for 10+ years. It looks like it would be a fun car. The tires are spent; any ideas for replacement ones? I took a nylon brush to it, but I intend on tearing it down to rebuild it.
I've finally started working on this RC12e I purchased about two years ago. There's nothing broken on it, so it's basically just a clean-up. Here are some photos I took of it last night before starting any work on it. Should've saved the effort of...

I am purchasing a RC12L in mostly-built / not completed / sitting on a shelf since condition ..............and I love all that, but have questions about the coloring :?: I don't want to press the owner with it too much, because I think I am getting...

I remember seeing this for sale, i was skeptical because he said it was never touch but the arms were dyed and cell slots are Filed.
Looks like you got some extras then what was listed, that’s always good.
So i came across these kits ive been wanting, im somewhat of an enthusiast of composite craft on road cars. Im been trying to collect all the 12l versions over the years and added these 2.
12ls 4/2 conversion and a 1/2” longer 12ls oval conversion....
My dream RC is a 1966 Lotus 49 F1 car nitro powered but fat chance so I decided to hack together a stand off scale car not a replica but something that reminded me of a vintage F1 that I could bash around. Photos are of the Lotus for inspiration,...

Bump! arf, are you out there by chance?? Hope you're doing well and this project is finished!
I have a few aftermarket pan axles that do not have the seat for the spur gear. Is there some kind of spacer that should be used to center it on the axle? The OEM ones have the area where the spur seats in the center. All these axles use...

Bearing in the spur is unflanged. The axles bearings are flanged.
I meant to type “un” in front of flanged, 😉. God damd spell correct.
I was wondering if anyone had a source for pictures of the old Associated bodies that used to be here:
The pictures there do not load for me, I am guessing it's just too old. I thought maybe my network was blocking them (Photobucket...

I actually got that link digging thru this forum, just some really old threads... so I was hoping maybe the old Associated guys here had any pics of painted bodies in general. Even a lot of the threads here are broken pictures. And Google searches...
2020 has been and will continue to be a challenging year. I still cant believe that at one point it was easier to find a vintage DS tire than it was a roll of toilet paper. It isnt suprising that my first build for 2020 got...

Well done sir! The car looks great.
Kyosho had offered the Chevelle body in red and blue as well but I think silver is the best color - especially with those chrome trim pieces.
Did you notice that they are making an El Camino version as well?...
That turned out really nice! What's really fun is once you get your car dialed in with better cells is to teach the newer cars that these old things can still keep up. Once you put a super low turn brushed motor in there, hang on! These still take...
Thanks to GoMachV, I was able to get started on a RC10L project I picked up on Ebay. I'm using the Factory Works lipo chassis, but had it cut in the natural fiberglass for that old school feel. Still waiting on the body and some odds and ends to...
I think I'm going to fab me a 10L chassis, I'm not going to include the normal ten battery slots, I'm thinking I'm going to try a brush-less version so I'll have to figure out how to accommodate the newer battery type.
Any suggestions...

OK, I took the advice from littleVETTE and lighten up the chassis by removing material directly underneath where the Lipo's would nest.
I also modeled up an Associated front bumper and body posts to do a fit check.
So I grabbed this chassis off of a guy that used to work at composite craft and said this was a r&d chassis they used. So my question is what parts do i need to complete the front end? Looks like trc/cc but not sure exactly what go to complete this...
I just found my old RC10LSS pan car and found that the rear axle(associated part#8210) is broken, and cant seem to find one.ANYWHERE. Does anyone know of a comparable replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Last post
10L and 10LSS are different axles. The eBay axle was for a SS, same as some 1/12 axles. It will be way too short for a 10L
yeah, I had my hopes up. :)
I had no idea how many versions of the 10L there were.
Hi can anyone help me in this subject what part numbers i need to convert a Team Associated RC12L4 to RC12L4Y Team Yokomo.
Any advice will very helpfull.
Some years ago I remember bookmarking a few pages I came across with the ds conversion kit for the rc10T. I somehow misplaced those bookmarks now 3 or 4 years later. Is there a parts list to do this conversion or is the kit still available on the...

What about the Bolink / RJ Speed Camaro body, It would fit the DS.
I'm pretty sure the Parma body is 200mm, in which case will only fit a touring car.
All the bodies on my DS's are 200mm the only thing is you may have to move the rear axle...
Found this in a random box of old parts. Not really sure what it is or for what? First guess was motor pod for pan card possibly 10L? Any help is appreciated.

My wife can't understand why I watch these old videos with little toy cars zipping around. I just smile at her and get back to watching it. I like the part where they were taking a peek at the cars in the pits.
My new office is my garage where my 19 rc cars, 15 boats and 11 airplanes reside. So as I was working on an evaluation I looked up and noticed I have 2 10l’s from an rc club I started at school back in 2001 sitting dusty an desolate. So I take a...

Hello I figured to share this on this page. I’m a new member but a long time RC enthusiast and enjoyed the TC3 and NTC3. I acquired this TC3 from Gene Husting’s museum from his son Curtis when they auctioned off some of Genes collection. I think...

I think it’s the Reedy Ti 8x3 custom motor in the article. I’d like to remove it to have a look but not sure if I should mess with it. I tried to picture it but the label of course is hidden for the most part in...
While I cleaned up a 10L chassis for another member I decided to build a little more on my 10L chassis. Don't know much about these things. The front suspension is from Raceco. I built that new from the bag. If anybody has more info on what it's...
But figured I'd do a separate resto thread since that had some Kyosho references in it.

Hmmm - well 72mph and the first signs of trans problems! However, it didn't help that I tried to hold the thing still while trying to heat up the tires. DOH. They stuck better than I expected and I heard some belt slippage and clicking. It was fine...
Will a 64 pitch 115 tooth spur and a 27T pinion fit an original RC10L with a modern brushless motor? I just put the motor in and it doesn't slide all the way back to the ends of the slots due to the bottom T-bar and metal mount. It's really close. I...

I would go with 48p too if going brushless. Agreed that it would destroy 64p in no time. You also might want to go with a smaller spur gear and larger pinion. Otherwise, the car may be very spin out prone on any surface using a brushless motor.
A local track just started up for carpet oval. My old 1991 RC10L needs some exercise. But I want to have some spares on hand. I found a source a few years ago for the T bar, and front wheel upright blocks(not the right word for it, but the block...

I know nothing about pan cars. I'm an offroad guy who dabbles in rubber tire touring cars.
On the surface, it looks like modern pan cars aren't much different than they were 25 years ago
My track wants to start a rubber tire 12th scale class and it...
First, a little background.
I’ll have to admit that I’ve never been a huge fan of on-road RC.
Although, back in the day I've raced a 12e, 12i, 10l (which I still have) and some custom-built pan cars on carpet and tarmac, dirt off-road is really my...

Me to. I've always like vettes in general. I drove a vette bitd, an '88, had it for 15 years, great car. Quick. Not sure of it's ultimate capabilities as I never had it over 150.

I am currently collecting all the parts i need for a ds build and i was just wondering if anyone has a list of the part i would need to convert one to use hex.

Yes that’s the issue for DS owners or people who want to build one.
The tires are plentiful worldwide for the wheels we are making I just need a few more weeks for testing, the pin drive is tricky I don’t want any failures.
hi there, would anyone have a decent pic of the 12L of masami at the 1991 worlds in Singapore.
Enclosed is the best i could find of the body.. would anyone have a better resolution of the body ?
THanks :)
A while ago i started a project with no goal. It was a DS nitro build using spare parts i had lying around. I used some RC10GT parts like the rear aluminum tranny brace and an aluminum rear bulkhead. GPM blue anodized dogbones and white RPM ball cup...

Judging by your pictures of your DS, would you say the stock bumper is about 1/4 thick? If so, I will need to source some 1/4 stock as the sheet I currently have is only 1/8 . You could use them as runners and keep your stock one for shelf duty. Let...

I think the steering servo placement is also not how the model was originally designed. The two servos are usually placed on the servo tray and there is a servo saver mechanism between servo and steering linkage.
