Im sure you guys have probably been asked this several times before and im sorry if it has but my searches on here didn't reveal much. So anyways I am looking for a good brushless combo for the sc10.2 that will be good for racing yet controllable....

I swear by the Hobbywing V3.1 and whatever motor fits into your class. The V3.1 really shines when you start introducing dynamic timing, but also seems to have more power in blinky classes. It also has the smoothest power delivery of any ESC that...
Did some searching but couldn't find a definite answer--- Are the stators on the Reedy 540 motors interchangeable? I'm wanting to swap a 17.5 for a 13.5.
As above. Why is there not a single receiver / Esc unit on the market? Is there some technological hindrance to having such a single unit combination. Rf interference? IDK. :?:

Tamiya was the last hobby-grade company I recall doing CPR units, which was their combined ESC and receiver. They were still selling them in XB TT01 cars a few years ago, but that model no longer seems to be on their website.
Hey guys, I have not torn apart the diff or trans in my (new to me) T4 to see what's inside. What is the consensus on the drivetrain being able to handle a moderate brushless setup? (something like the Castle Sidewinder SCT 3800kv)?
Are the trans...

I'm running a Novak Havoc 3s with an Novak 8.5 turn motor in one and a Novak Pulse with a 7.5 turn motor in my other. The only problem I had was melting my spur gears when I ran a 3s lipo.
I'm putting together a Trailfinder2 with a Castle SCT Sidewinder 3800KV with a 14T pinion and a Futaba 4PL.
First, this is my first brushless system. When I start to pull on the trigger, the motor goes from not turning to lots of RPM's (IDK, maybe...

I think you'll like the Castle link, this is the customizable throttle curve option. I ramped up the curve with only one of an unlimited number of points - just a quick example of what you can do with it, it's very cool stuff :D After messing with...
Todsy I was testing my car after rewireing it. I use bullet connectors and always double check polarity, even before I pluged it in tonight but I still reversed the polarity and smoke started to come out. Guess I need glasses.
Does any one know if...

Same goes for Deans Ultras.
If you try to plug in a deans ultra backwards you deserve to blow your sh#t up. You learn that concept when your two, trying to put round cylinders in square holes. It's a t shaped connector, how would...
Ran across this on ebay though it would be cool for rc10's as long as it is the same phisical size as a nimh stick pack it should fit and look somewhat vintage in the old rc10's

Why not run a shorty pack? I'm running some in my CE and they work out great.
SMC makes a 4300 mah pack for $35 that should provide plenty of run time
I purchased a I purchased a TrackStar 120A Gen II ESC that I have tried to install. But I can't get throe the whole installation sequence, so I need your help guys! This is my first brushless system...

Whats the word on brushless motors getting wet? I know in the old days we would dip our brushed motors in water for better performance but I dont know if brushless can get wet? We have some great terrain here in the upper midwest due to the cold...

I've completely submerged a Novak Super Sport combo. I was surprised everything survived the experience.
Just to let eveyone know, this ESC being sold several places as a 4S capable 6-16V unit absolutely will not take more than 10V, at least not pushing a 540 can.
I've had really good luck with the smaller version of this ESC, so I decided to give...

Who said i did?
Why should I have to provide cooling above and beyond the fan they come equipped with? As well, if the BEC can't power the receiver and one standard servo (in this case,...
Please share your advice on how to improve on-power steering

I am not sure which changes are best for on-power steering,
as opposed to off-power steering (which I do not need).

Alot of good points have been covered here. A bit of basic setup theory tho. Firstly when attacking a problem (like the one described), you always look at the end of the car that has the weight transfered to it first. This will typicaly be the the...
please bare with me, I'm new to 1/4 scale never ran dual servos for steering, I have a three channel radio and reciever, I am not sure how to use the aux input for the second servo. Could I use a y cable into one slot on the receiver?

there are two futaba S3305 servos on the front end for steering and a duratrax sx100 servo for the throttle and brake. Would these servos work with a JR R135 receiver and JR XR3i transmitter? I am a spring chicken with RC electronics forgive my...
I am getting ready to pick up an ESC for my Optima Mid. I will be running a 13.5 turn brushless.....so how big of a speed control do i need? What amperage? 70? 120? Any help would be great

He's not running 3S with his Optima Mid (I gathered this from messages we sent in PM). He just wants to update the electronics in a vintage Mid without blowing up the gearbox. A 60-amper is more than sufficient for that.
A friend and I started building a car for top speed runs. While researching esc's I noticed most of them have a 3.5 limit on motors using 2s or 6.5 limit if using 4s.
My question is if everything else is the same (gearing, tire size, etc) would a...

Regardless of gearing, horsepower as it relates to electric RC cars is a function of motor & battery. How much power you create is dependent on motor & battery. The most powerful motor will be a gutless wonder with insufficient voltage pumped into...
Looking for a decent 4ch 2.4GHz transmitter & receiver for my backyard-use Trailfinder 2 crawler. Has anyone usd this one? And who makes it or just a no-namer?
Trying to stay around the $100 mark.

forgot to add that another GREAT feature with the hacked flysky is being able to have a momentary winch. which means the winch will only work when you have the button pressed.

The high-torque Tamiya unit I installed in the OptiMutt car along with the Tamiya ballraced bellcrank has zero slop. This one has 3 metal rings, not the weak spring I've seen in their kit-included savers. It's actually a bit of a pain to force that...

this is the manual i got with mine, and the only one on TA's web site that i could find. it's basically one page folded pamphlet. mentions a lot of stuff but nothing about reverse polarity protection:
I have a couple olderAirtronics mx-3 radios and I was wondering if anyone has seen a 2.4 conversion for them? I always loved this radio abs I'd love to convert it too continue using it for racing.
After leaving my lipo plugged in for almost a week I think it is dead. It is puffed up and the charger say low voltage. It now sits in my lipo firebag and inside an old army amo box.

check the voltages on each cell. It's likely that it's totally done, as the way to dispose of them is to discharge to nothing, then throw in salt water for 24 hrs.

I have had the LRP sx8 since shortly after buying the MBX6 Tekno conversion buggy. I got the LRP because of the LRP reputation, I use LRP X12's in my Losi 22 and my 12th Corally and they work flawlessly. It was just dumb luck that the esc and the...
Scored one today on Craigslist along with some other random parts.
If I have a 3 channel receiver I can run it on the car, right? Curious to see if anyone has done this before, and if it makes a difference in performance...

Is it as simple as mounting it on the motor plate and plugging it into the 3rd receiver plug-in? It kind of looks like it was made for a brushless setup, but I'm going to try and mount it on a Losi Junior2.
Hi fellas, my steering servo is making some weird noises so I will upgrade it. What torque servo and brand do you guys recommend for the rc10, i do no racing just bash around my yard, thanks for any replies.

Spektrum receivers are compatable with all standard servos (made within the last 15 years or so anyway). The only problem you may run into is a futaba style plug with the ear, which the ear will need to be cut off. Also beware of cheap high power...
so ive decided im going to run all my vintage stuff, but I want new electrics (long-ass run times) what 380 and 540 packages do people recommend for equivalent replacements, just high efficiency?

As an option, we are now running brushless 21.5 brushless FDR limit of 6.0.
This was meant to be of a similar speed to brushed 540.

I have the s6040 servo and love it. I can't comment on the rest however.
