I know there are holes in the list, but we can continue to build on this as we go. It's fairly comprehensive thus far, so hopefully this can help those of you who are looking for the general information on these motors. Feel free to offer...
If somebody have more stuff from Lavco, PM me

I just discovered the orion sticker on my Sanyo 1400SCR's says LAVco followed by a number.
I guess they had several units they used to rate the cells for matching.
Hello all. I recently got my drag car up and running and now have a ? maybe somebody can help me with. I am using my old school pdi turbo zeta esc. Now this esc can handle up to 32 cells and multiple mod. motors. Anyways, for my first run I ran it...

I would also check out the boat scene. I have been out of them for a while, but I remember some of those guys ran insane cell counts. I am sure the water cooling helped though.
I usually check a motors timing marks before I go into them, buuuut, this time I forgot somehow. The only technical thing Im familiar with about motors, is cutting the Comms. Which is how this got started in the first place.
The motor Im having...

The Mr. series includes a few different lines, including my favorite: Sonic and Sonic2
I'll tell you right now, the large comm Sonics are CRAZY durable, don't give a flying crap about gearing, and survive the worst torture test ever conceived: a...

good points. Thank you sir..
If you are gonna run old batteries like 1200's or 1400's and maybe 1700's a 16 turn should be fine, but if you are going to use newer batteries with 3000+ mah only use a stock motor cuz it'll get quite hot after...
I was about to buy a new ESC for one of my runners, then i...

Good Points all - Thanks for your input.
I just tested the radio, and it works perfectly - I use the exact same radio for my 3 runners ( each has it's own 113iP rcvr). the rcvrs are still available, but the controller isnt even repairable according...
I picked up an rc10 from a friend for free. He just sent me the transmitter the other day, so I was able to test it out a bit.
It has a hi-tec transmitter and reciever. The transmitter works, but it has no antenna, and there is no spring on the...

Tear a strip of paper about twice the width of your pinion. Pull the paper into the spur/pinion gears by turning the spur. Adjust gear mesh and pull out paper. You should be able to remove paper without tearing if gears are set up properly.
That I couldnt find this. I just bought a house and for whatever reason my Checkpoint motor didnt end up with all of my RC crap. Im very happy now. :D

This RC10 that I just picked up has a Victor Engineering ESC on it. I googled Victor and all I can find is how awesome their chargers were. Anyone have any info?
I posted this in another dialogue and don't want it to get lost. OK, I'm just anxious for some input.
I ran stock a few times as a teenager. I really didn't experiment much with gearing. When I became interested in RCs again I began adjusting gear...

I run Novak T4s and and a Futaba 112 escs. With stock-mild 16T and final drive ratio around 9 I get around 8 minutes run time. The futaba runs hot with a 16T (thanks Carloco). I'm tryline to determine a baseline for what I have. The T4s are ready...
i won this on ebay last week. does anyone know around what year this model came out? mainly, i'm just wondering if it's old enough to put in my 6010 queen.

thanks for the info. i also thought it was odd that both plugs were the same. i was also stumped on the wires. it looked like there was 2 red and 2 blue. but the more i looked at them, the neg. battery wire is actually a blushish gray. it made it...
i got one with a red label, and one with a chrome label. anyone no what the difference is? the one with the red label has a yokomo endbell, and the chrome label one has a plain endbell.

thanks. i looked at the motors again, and the red one has a 1W etched in it. i'm guessing that means a single wind. the chome one has a 2 etched in it. so i guess that would mean a double? they don't say anything about what turn they are, though.
Random topic I know but...
Would anyone know where I might be able to find a Gecko discharger ?
These don't seem to be made anymore or at least they're not available in the paces I've checked.
I've always known these things as battery bugs . I have...

I have one of those dischargers. It is sooooooooooooo slooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww to do it's job. It's got to be a half amp or so cause it doesn't even get warm. From what I've learned over the last few months, it's best to discharge your batteries...
I have a serious line on about 55-60 new and lightly used vintage race motors from the mid 80s to early 90s, from various manufacturers. Would anyone be interested in any of them if I buy the lot?

Checkpoint came out with a fast motor in the mid 80'. This is the Checkpoint Gold. Do you know of anyone who has one or maybe an old TRINITY motor with the tiny slotcar brushes?
I have been collecting old Checkpoints for a while now, and yes,...
