Lazer zx for the new year!
I'm more of a yokomo fanboy but my love also extends to the kyosho family.
Bought this lazer zx many moons ago...only now have I turned it around.
Unfortunately, I haven't got the original pics of the wreck I bought. All the parts were there, but heavy wear and rust.
And to add insult, it did come with this body:
Makes me just detest the original lazer zx body even more! I mean, those decals....
Anyway, enough chat from me. My build tells another story...

I think with the right decal/sticker set I'd use this badboy . The other shell looks nice but that pink is just screamin' 80's kyosho.naushad wrote: And to add insult, it did come with this body:

+1 I don't mind pink, I mean, it's just another colour. Stick a repro decal set on it and run it. Or you could sell it to someone who will.klavy69 wrote:I think with the right decal/sticker set I'd use this badboy . I was thinking it might be a ZX-S body. I was oblivious to the existance of the ZX-S until recently.

Yeah, I guess if you're really into your nostalgia then yes!
I have a matching set if kyosho pink rims which are intact.
Just need a mega motor to complete

Re: Lazer zx for the new year!
I don't really dig pink much.
The zx-s shell is nice. It's by kamtec.
The zx-s is a very nice and highly sought after kyosho 4wd.

Yep. Done by one of the best painters in the UK- Mike Parker. He has a good understanding of the vintage off roader.

Re: Lazer zx for the new year!
That speedo brings back memories... the smell of burned out mosfets early in the morning
Even after I had 2 extra fets added and the broken ones replaced, this ESC was still getting freaking hot
The ZX-S lines made me think it was the LOHAS shell first: especially the end of the cockpit

Re: Lazer zx for the new year!
Thought it was an original kyosho zxs shell, shows how good a paint job it was. Kamtec make a better shell compared to anyone else and im glad I supplied him with shell and undertay so he could make a mold. Im still using the very first shell ever made and still loiks new. Same with the tomcat shell but didnt have an undertray so apologies for that. Still glad you bought it.
Looks great by the way.

Re: Lazer zx for the new year!
Does anyone know if the ZX-S shell and undertray will fit a LWB Mid and if so how good a fit is it, can you use the stock Mid undertray pegs with it?
Do Kamtec do the wing in the photos too?
I'm thinking a ZX-S shell may be the go for my LWB Mid project
