sorry...steering tie rod hits ball cup mounted to shock tower.. just wondering if anyone takes a different approach to rc10 steering... the problem is i like to run longer screws for the steering and a nut to hold the chassis together.. then i mount the steering on top of the nut.. this rises the steering and makes the problem... i usualy just run threaded rods for steering and bend them a bit to clear this to clear this...just lookin for ideas

Don't use the nut, the nose plate is threaded, just use a dab of locktite on the noseplate screws. Then use AE black ballstuds on the bellcranks and shock tower, the black ballstuds are shorter and don't interfere near as much.

These are the ballstuds http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/7980/n/Team-Associated-300-Ball-Stud-Black-6

from top to bottom the steering arms should look like this.

nut
steering arm
washer (if needed to prevent the steering arm from rubbing on nose plate)
nose plate
chassis
7/8" 8-32 screw

also rpm ball ends have a tendency to rub up there. the smaller stock style ball cups will give a bit more clearance.

the 3983 ball studs look like they will do the trick.. as for no nut, that does work best for steering set up.. i like to use a nut to keep the chassis from goin loose.. as far as loctite ,that does not have effect on the threads in the nose plate when you disassemble the car?? thanks for the help

I agree with what Mark said and just use a 'dab'. It won't affect the threads if you use the stuff that will come back apart. Different thread locking companies use different 'grades'. Some will never come back apart and some are like a medium where it will come back apart without hurting anything with a little muscle. Right now I am using a bottle of Losi threadlock-removable. Its alot like the associated stuff where it just keeps the parts from vibrating loose but comes apart easy enuf.
