Low budget resto

Post by Panhead383 »

Picked this up on the bay for $49. Hated to do it but painted the beat up chassis. Found a GREAT site- to make white parts whiter  And here we are so far. I'll keep you posted as i move along with this.

The white parts look great :) Could you please share the details on how you achieved that? I've had some luck (to an extent) with non-acetone nail polish remover, but only on "junk" parts. I've always been too afraid to try it on anything that wasn't nearly destroyed already.

EDIT: nevermind about this question!! After searching the site, I found the peroxide thread and think that that's probably how you cleaned the parts.

Thanks for the confirmation! This shouldn't come to a surprise to em though, because I found and used this process about 2 years ago on old yellowed LEGO bricks (of all things!). I'm definitely going to use it on some parts I'll be getting from ebay though!
