I agree, that's the problem with Chris doing something right in the first place. The reason I joined here is because it has the same feel and the same mix of people as Tamiyaclub did when it started, in fact quite a few here are the same people as in the early days of TC.
There are still more than a few knowledgeable people there (Terry SC being one obvious one) that are only too happy to share their knowledge.

hey, I'll help anyone out and will do anything to promote the hobby. The more newbies we get involved the better chance of the hobby growing. I run an r/c club now rather than race because I get more of a kick out of seeing new r/cers enjoying the hobby due to my actions than just rolling up and racing. I must say though I still spend much more time over here these days.
Having said that - I would encourage the admin on this forum to keep a tight reign on membership here. While it may not be fashionable or politically correct to have what is essentially a "club for the boys only" - this place is GOLD for freaks like us that really just admire the hard core racing gear etc. I was just talking to Jay on this very subject. I have only told a select few of my friends about this place - not because I dont want this place to grow -= but because I would hate to see it become to commercial.
I agree, that is the problem with Tamiyaclub, it's grown so popular it attracts everyone. The equivalent on here would be in 2-3 years time the site is full of bashers and racers with their B4s and T4s and we've all moved on somewhere else
