The MK1 arms would make the front end more similar to the more modern cars like the B4.1, 22, etc. Maybe you should work with it for a while . LMK if you would like to sell the one rear aluminum slider you have too btw. -Jeff
The Cougar2 works was the last word for the alloy pan cars of that time. Ultimately the car was refined to a point where I dont think it could go any further. It was and still is a great performing car especialy on grippy tight twisting tracks (so I have found). This is where the swept-back front arms came into their own. The car turned really easily and I have gone back and forth between the Mk1 and Mk2 arms depending on the track design, track conditions and the class of motor I have run. All factors which can effect lap times I suppose.
I have owned 3 of these cars and raced one on numerous occassion in recent years and they are quite nimble. Keep the parts that are on the car and seek those that are missing, only then you'll be able to appreciate the pro's and con's of the different items. They all have their place.
I'll reply to your PM with regards to your 'wants' shortly.

Nice. One of the diggest issues we had with tha car back in the day was weight distribution. The front end was very light. If memory serves I started with an ounce of lead in the front, right under the steering rack. After that I eventually worked my way tward sweeping the front arms, which would place more weight on the front tires. -Jeff
As mentioned before - this looks to be a right old mix-up of parts, it almost seems that it was a Mk1 Cougar that had the Works chassis and transmission parts brought for it, certainly its odd to find the MMS diff in there - if it had originally been a Cougar 2 you'd have thought the Pro-diff would have been still in there?

Jeff, sadly the plastic end of the aluminium slider was cracked and broke when removing the metal crucifix but the rest is ok if you are after it for spares?

I picked this up off of craigslist for a pretty good price. Overall its in ok condition, but the top shaft of the transmission is really jacked up. I dont expect to turn this into a shelf queen, but I would like to make it into a runner.

I never had much luck with those plastic shock seal housings to be honest. They always seem to leak no matter how well I build them.
I am running the purple alloy shock seal housings. They work extremely well!
I recently got myself a boxed Cougar 2 Works U452. I was wondering if anyone had noticed any differences between the U452 and U453 versions of the buggy? Or are these completely identical and just a part number change.
Thanks
Paul.

That is electric tape mate!! Just peels off think people put it on to stop the batts shorting on the chassis......
I don't know where Scott gets all his lovely NIB Schumacher kits but I've got to agree, a C2Works NIB must be one of the rarest things out there. It's a great car that I'd love to have new in box.
In some ways I hate NIB kits as I'd love to make...
I know I am asking for a bit of a miracle but the only thing I am in need of to finish my c2 works car for our vintage race in feb. is the 2 part lexan gear cover. Anyone?!?!?!? PLEASE?
