Blue Anodized Chassis ... But What Is It?
I've had this chassis safely tucked away for well over ten years. My plan was always to find a matching nose plate and build a shelf queen with it. Today I was comparing it to all of my other RC10 parts and ... well ... what is it?
Blue anodized "B" stamp stealth chassis...
Trimmed rear edges...
Rounded upper corners (normally square) and angled lower cuts (normally rounded)...
Shaved leading edge for a smoother transition behind the nose plate...

All those features are subtractive. Including the "angled lower cuts". Which would suggest that it was done after the fact and not an original design intent. Still a very nice chassis with well executed modifications. You could see if a blue nose plate would match in color or have a nose plate re anodized to match.

a match in color would be hard to achieve...not impossible but hard enuf. I think I'd go with a polished nose piece and motor plate. Johnny did a mix and match like that awhile back and it looked good. Either way, like stated above...its a nice start to a great project

That is a good idea and even a black nose piece and motor plate would look good too!klavy69 wrote:a match in color would be hard to achieve...not impossible but hard enuf. Re: Blue Anodized Chassis ... But What Is It?
I have black nose tubes and a black Litespeed Litesink for the build. I'm not so sure about using a black nose plate though...
