Family man, chiropractor, former Army officer.

I play guitar and bash RC cars, older and newer, for fun.

Brand new to this forum, will be lurking and toe dip posting for a while.

Hi Doc and welcome aboard! :D I hail from a tiny burg near Springfield Il. Been in Al since '96 (I came here for the Waffle House  ). We have a lot of members from Il; I reckon RC was very popular in the Mid-west bitd.

I'd petition for a Waffle House up here.

I do recall RC being popular here, too, from the mid 80s to mid 90s at least.

It also helped that putting together a setup to race didn't seem to cost what it does now. An RC10 CE, two ROAR spec motors, some spare parts, three batteries, a used HiTech stick transmitter, a timer charger, and a tarp to lay it all out on saw me among the stock front runners for two entire summers.
