Finally had a nice Sunday to get out on the boat and take our somewhat usual trip up the historic James River to Richmond.

The Enon bridge south of Richmond:

Jimmy Dean's House. I like to refer to him as "the sausage king of Richmond.":

The east side of Downtown Richmond from the river:

Reminds me a bit of a photo I took a LONG while ago on the Adelaide River... apart from the bridge.... and the fact that you probably didn't have crocodiles in the water!
Adelaide River.JPG
Weirdly (like most things in Australia), the Adelaide River is not in Adelaide.... but 2500kms or so north, outside Darwin in the Northern Territory.

Great pics, though! Nice to see some people are not under continual house arrest, and can leave the house.....

If I were cooler I'd find a meme or a video link......but you guys and those boat pictures reminded me of "The Great Outdoors" when Chet rents the speedboat named "Suck my Wake"!!!
Cruising on a boat is always fun!

EDIT: I woke up this morning and my first thougt was, "It was Roman, not Chet."
Hope you're doin' something fun.

The 4014 Big Boy was inside the UP Steam Shop after it’s run so I couldn’t see her up close but the static brother was just up the road so I got a few pics. Very impressive.

When I was young. a friend of the family had heard that I had built an HO scale train layout, and they gifted me a very old set up that they had had for many years. At its lead was a UP 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. Even when scaled down to 1:87, it was an impressive bit of kit. I am on the wrong side of this island to see any actual UP stuff, so thank you for sharing the pics! That must be a sight to see!

Mass-produced, and legally purchased, joints. In the Commonwealth of Virginia of all places.

BTW, not for my consumption.

My dog would "wash" the paint off of it.

It's raining today, so I decided to clean up the shed a little. Snapped this while I was at it. I have more hanging from the ceiling but they are mostly loaners and such.

While there's a few others in the mix, I do like my Shimano reels.

Just like my RC cars, most of these weren't bought new. Many were bought from eBay with problems or as parts reels. All now work as good or better than new.

Saw this the other morning.

blackdeer.jpg

It's a melanistic or "black" deer.
There are a few of them around the area. I've read they are less common than albino deer.
Wonder what he is thinking??? Am I next???
And yes, I need to kill/pull the weeds...
