So I've been eagerly waiting for this part and it's arrived today. It's made by Cross Racing for the Kyosho TF2 touring car, but since that shares the same OT-55 C-hub, I figured the Cross version in alloy would fit as well. And it did.

Test fitting a few wheel choices too. The Yokomo wheels have a wider offset due to adaptors. I'm not yet decided if it would look better than stock. Also tried on some onroad foams on You-G wheels. At one point in the 80s this would be the setup for shopping mall indoor Racing!

The small re-re front bumper gives a better look. Yokomo adaptors act like spacers and push the track a little wider.

Nice, I love those Cross upgrades. The Optima chassis in its stock form tends to push and understeer a little under acceleration, so hopefully your widened track will help it steer better. That's what I noticed when I made similar modifications to my Barney Optima, which also has a slightly widened track. At least on pavement, where understeer would be most noticeable, it steers better than when stock.

Too much track width, however, and the car will get too twitchy and oversteer. Finding the sweet spot is different for every chassis--and driving ability. With my driving ability, I need all the help I can get...
Completed projects: CYANide Onroad Optima | Zebra Gold Optima | Barney Optima | OptiMutt RWD Mid
Gallery - Coel's Stalls: Marui Galaxy & Shogun Resto-Mods | FrankenBuff AYK Buffalo | 1987 Buick GNX RC12L3

Thanks Coelacanth!

I really like the Cross products too, they are very well made. I saw your AA27GP drive cups and those I'd love to find a set one day.

I've started driving on a dirt track recently again, with my Javelin re-re, I haven't yet settled in, too many years away and probably wrong tyres now so I'm sliding all over the place. Once I put in correct tyres I'll watch for that push and see if I could widen with some Factory Works spacer hexes. Me too mate, my driving needs help :)
