New 7001 RC10t build

Post by mikea96 »

Decided to finally build this rc10t early 7001 with non webbed arms and offset battery B stamp chassis. It was partially built and never finished and I have had if for a long time and had planned on using it for another 91 stealth build but I recently picked up another new built early 10t so I have decided to build this one.

Just saw that something was delivered in mailbox that made me really decide to finish building this truck. 8)

If you haven't made the body holes yet, I might would consider the extended rear body mounts on Shapeways. I have them on most of my trucks. Some bodies are better than others, with the original being about the worst.

There are a couple different ones to choose from. One reuses the original posts and the other has printed (undrilled) posts.

My original fits perfect with the stock body mounts. I have never had trouble with fitment.

I never liked how close the body pins were to the body curves, not that they didn't fit.

Nice to see a 7001 build, by far one of my favorite trucks. I still love the Ivory White part's! Nice truck Mike!
Did those turnbuckles come with the kit?

Thanks and no I added the turnbuckles. I like the look of the titanium ones over the stock ones.

Nice result. Very clean. I love the look of those rear tires, and of course the front skinnys always look awesome.

I was fortunate enough to find and build an early 7001 several years ago. I built it close to the manual specs with matching electronics. It's one of my favorites in my collection.

Thanks and they definitely look the best with narrow wheels and tires up front. I need to find 2 novak m1c's, one for this and one for my 91 stealth. I have some 10t decals coming and I need to drill the mounting holes in the body.

Here is a couple photos with the body just sitting on the truck. I have since trimmed up the back of the body and have the rear spoiler cut and ready to mount as well.
