A little bonus today after checking the mailbox. Early AE wiper arm. Please note the shipping date. This item has been lost and already replaced in the past six weeks. Contacted the seller and they had already written it off as a loss, so freebie for me. As if it was waiting for the 12i to show up......................
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
A new project started with arrival of a few parts today. This is not a complete car, but those parts are in very good condition (basically new) and did not cost a lot, so it was a no brainer...
Hirobo 44B chassis parts... I know already the rear end part is like the Zerda and the missing front part is symmetrical. And I have what is required to model already some of the missing parts with the Zerda. Will be missing other things in this, but that's already more than what I expected for the price I paid

I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Picked up a pair of brand new Losi Monster Claw tires for my custom built 1/5 Monster Truck. The tires on the truck are brand new since I just finished building it last year, but the bad thing is Losi discontinued the 9" tall Monster Claws about 6 months ago. Last thing I want is to not be able to replace tires on this truck, so I am constantly watching all the auction sites for any pairs that might pop up. Stumbled across a brand new in the bag set recently and snagged them. Paid through the nose for them though

For a shelfer. Case is clean, nice label, little bit of shine coming thru on the heatsink corners but it's got the pot plugs and the wiring isn't all kinky. Gonna have to do something about that (+) PowerPole cluster. But overall pleased with the purchase.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

A Dean's plug works nice for three wire connections. There is one wire on each side of the terminal, instead of trying to splice them.

The red heat shrink tubing over the bare wire also does a nice job cleaning things up.

^^
^^
Yeah the power pole/"sermos" was my go-to for battery connectors bitd. And the Deans 4 pin for the motor. The double wire B (+) at the terminal was always a shoehorning and shrink-wrap affair.
A quick mockup revealed inadequate lengths for what I'm after so I'm gonna have to rewire the mains.
I just BIN'd a 3' black/red/blue Novak 12ga off the one place. This build I'm thinking hard wired to the motor and leave the batt leads tinned and conectorless...super "racer" style.

I bought a few sets on Ebay a while back. They have gotten harder to find since COVID.

I soldered everything BITD! No connectors anywhere in the power system. That must have saved .000001 ohm of resistance, possibly even .000002

Today I got some endmills and other tooling to play with. Never tried cutting wood (on purpose) before. I could get used to this!
