RC10T and GT pick-up last night
Spent some time at jwscab's house yesterday. My wife's car was at the dealership for service and it's real close to his place. On the way home I decided to swing in to the hobby shop in side a farmers market to see the owner. I've known him since I was a kid and worked at his hobby shop that was in my town when I was in high school. Come to find out he has sold the business, so I'll have to catch up with him another time. After talking to the new owner I start to look around and see these 2 trucks sitting on the counter. He said if you want them I'll make you a real good deal. I said, how good? It was real good, so they came home with me.
Gonna copy/paste my FB post from last night here:
Now that I'm home I can finally check these out. I didn't even take the bodies off before I got them. With the prices, condition almost didn't matter.
I guess I'll start with the gt first. It's a solid truck that needs a good cleaning. Engine seems stuck but I don't care about that. But there's quite a few hop-ups on this thing. Lunsford Punishers, Hammad Ghuman aluminum rear bulkhead, trans brace, lower shock mount and even rear hubs. Then, and I didn't even notice them right away, MIP lightened outdrives.
The 10t smoked about 2 packs a day for 30 years. But beyond that, looks to be a 7011 kit that was upgraded to bearings. Also outfitted with Lunsford Punishers and a Hammad Ghuman aluminum trans brace, and a Dynamite Fuze brushless combo.

Always a nice feeling when you kinda accidentally end up with a couple more vintage AE pieces, great find.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

That GT reminds me of my very first GT. They sold a bunch of HG stuff. My truck had a few little random bits on it like that because that’s what I could afford at the time I went there. But it was aluminum so it meant it was better

Pretty cool trucks, they sure look like they could tell a story or two but that adds to the coolness I think.
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

Re: RC10T and GT pick-up last night
Little update...... no pics though.
So after tearing them down I found a few other goodies. Both trucks were outfitted with titanium hinge pins. Though there was a steel one mixed in on the 10t. Could've been mixed up when the guy was reinstalling them with the titanium pins..... hard to say. And the GT, that has a titanium top shaft which I assume is HG, and it also has a metal diff gear. It has some weight to it so I'm going to say it's probably from Robinson Racing.
That's all for now.
