Servus from Germany!

Post by vonBraun »

Hi there,

my name is Chris and I am from Stuttgart, Germany.
I got into RC cars at around five years old with a Tamiya Rising Storm XB. Never really liked the looks of it but sure had a blast driving it. Still own it but every time I attempt to restore it I put it back on the shelf after two minutes because every part is worn to the max

Next up was a Tamiya TT01 Kit with a Mercedes 190E Evo 2 DTM Body. First car I chose myself. Built it, painted it and drove it to the ground. I remember spending a fortune for spares and hop-ups because I drove it so much. Really had a blast on the local onroad track!

After that it was time for my first Nitro RC. A Kyosho FW05 with a BMW M3 GTR Body.
I remember getting it for christmas but having to wait for what felt like an eternity until the snow finally melted an i could drive it :D
Took me a while to figure out how to tune it but with the help of the (very good) manual I got it dialed, even at seven or eight years old.
It‘s still in great shape today and the Engine still has some pinch left 8)

I also remember restoring a Tamiya C11 with new parts and a Tamiya Ford F150 Race Truck that were very abused by previous owners

Then a ten year break followed because I got into mopeds, bikes and other thongs (I wanted to write „things“ but left it misspelled because it’s perfect  )
During this break I remember seeing an RC10 for the first time with the Classic beeing released. I didn’t have the 240€ to spare at the time. Now i could bite myself :x . They are an unobtainium now

Is somebody still reading this?

Fast forward to about 2 years ago I picked up racing touring cars again.
Around that time I saw a pic of an original RC10T for the first time. I‘ve always loved the looks of stadium trucks but for some reason never owned one.
I got on eBay and all of the classifieds right away with no luck.
At the beginning of last year I got lucky and found a complete white nylon, narrow fronts 10T for a decent price. It was raced back in the day and came with a complete pit set up 8)
I‘ve since restored it with all of its original parts. There are still some parts that need replacing but you just can’t find parts here…
I discovered this forum during the resto and have gained a lot of useful information and knowledge since!

My RC10T started a whole collection of vintage stadium trucks of all makes and models that I plan to start some threads on and ask a lot of questions about here.
First up will likely be a Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro runner- resto…

I don’t think anybody will be still reading this by now but it sure was fun to relive my RC memories and practice my english writing skills. Hope it makes kind of sense

Looking forward to some interesting vintage RC Talk…
