The short tires will help some, but I wouldn't bash a stadium truck with a 14T motor. I'll give up some speed for run time and reliability.

I decided to plastic weld the crack in the steering arm and carefully adjusted the end points to avoid stress on it.

A few minutes into the run with the Onyx motor, it threw out a rear outer hinge pin. The snap-in clips that I used were worn and iffy, so not too shocked. Upgraded both sides with 5-link A-2007 pins and some used spacers.

Then had a nice run with it for about 15 minutes until the motor got a little too warm. It ran great though…25+mph on the road and just floated over the grass in the yard.

If they are 1/8" hinge pins, Custom Works E clips work good and are cheap.

If the grooves of the pins are worn, maybe use a 3mm E clip. I've had to do that with several RC10's.

I have been having a blast driving this truck! After a wicked high-speed cartwheel that chucked a tie-rod and a few near misses with fence poles…I installed this used JG on-road bumper to the truck. It totally fits and will help protect the front bulkhead & suspension better. It has been surprising how well this truck and the 30 year old parts are holding up to abuse.

The old losi stuff seems to hold up really well. I actually contemplating running my LXT during a Trophy race, because why not?

I LOVE the idea of using the "not shelf quality" stuff to build a runner! The last time I had a bunch of spare Losi parts laying around I ended up doing a full resto-mod LXT. Excellent work sir.

I have been driving this truck a lot and decided to make it not quite so ugly with a body upgrade.
