Jc racing compared with jconcepts front wheels.

Post by helbnd1 »

Hey guys,
I have both sets of front wheels, rc10b2 offset, and when measuring them, the jc racing wheels have 4mm more positive offset.
This is about what the b4 wheels are, I looked on Jc's website, and my wheels have the outer flange like in their pictures, so I believe that they are correct, but 4mm difference seems like a lot.
What do you guys think?

I have cars with the narrow JC Racing wheels and JConcepts fronts. The JC Racing car is definitely narrower. I just assumed that the difference was between the wide and narrow designs.

Both measure 26 mm outside to outside.

I did some measuring on several of my cars. I don't have any JC Racing wide wheels, so take it for what it is.

Both of my cars with JConcepts fronts have a wider track width than any of my cars with JC Racing or vintage wheels (as well as 1.9 JConcepts).

My guess is that each company took a different approach with designing wider wheels for vintage buggies.

JConcepts probably centered the wheel (more or less). While this widened the car a little , it is still well within width requirements.

I suspect that JC Racing may have increased the offset to make up for the additional with, maintaining the original car width.

As I said, these are just speculations.
