I've seen this pic before and it is misleading. These are just stock discs with an old header? Actual CRP discs are silver and larger diameter (they fit onto the taper just the same). CRP stuff was never black, only silver or gold btw. I will have a pic for you over on my build when I get back to it.

Cool build. This is reminding me to get back to mine.
I've been waiting for an update on yours.
Actually CRP did have them in black also, have a couple of pairs of them still nip also have them in silver.
Will take a pic when I update my build, going to change a few things.

Just went through some parts, looks like crp made them in 2 different sizes.
I have them in black which are small and silver which are large, both have the same header card and part number 1702.
Never noticed this, guess it was for the ss & rr differences in size?

The one with the bigger wheels was the Super Champ.
1.7" if I remember it correctly?

The super champ was the same size as the sand scorcher 1.5, rough rider was 1.75.

Here's a pic of the CRP 1702's, crappy pic but definitely 2 different sizes.

Looks great Mike!

FYI you bought the gears from me 8) You would not have known as I do not advertise my ebay auctions on this site, nor have I sold any of my cars posted to this site.

I may as well advertise here... it seems like everyone else does

Could it be that the black ones didn’t give enough room between the wheel and shock? Or are the natural made for fitting Fox wheels or similar and the black for SRB wheels? Just thinking out loud... :D

I just compared my silver CRP adaptors to some RR and SS wheels and I think that the silver ones are meant to be used with the RR wheels. When placed together I noticed that the roll pin lines up exactly with any one of the five screw holes in the RR wheels. The SS wheels screw holes are a smaller diameter and don't line up with the roll pin in the silver adaptor. CRP didn't supply any instructions, but I think that once you have your wheels assembled you take out one of the screws and drill the hole to the same thickness as the roll pin. With the adaptor on the Scorpion's axle you then put the wheel on making sure that the roll pin fits in the enlarged screw hole thus ensuring that the wheel dosen't spin on the adaptor. Are the roll pins in the black adaptors closer to the centre hole of the adaptor when compared to the silver ones? If so I'm betting that the black ones are meant to be used with the SS wheels. That would explain why there are two different sizes.
Chris.

If your assumption is right, then my reasoning wasn’t that faraway 8)

Thanks for the replies everybody!

I also tried the larger silver adapters with rough rider wheels and they do fit.
Crp wasn't too much for giving instructions :D
I'd agree that the silver's are for the rr and blacks are for the ss.

Going to use mrp' s super Harris 1600 repo body on this, still need to order it.

Thanks for the gears knucklbuster! They came in handy, bit hard to find.
