You may also want to move the rear suspension mounts that bolt to the chassis to the rear holes. It will bring the rear suspension arms forward on the chassis and align the dogbones better while also allowing the rear shocks to line up better with the rear arms. It cleaned up nicely!

you can't do that with the old bulkhead without notching it out. and if that's something you don't want to do for one reason or another, .....................

I think back when I was a kid I just ground off the forward most hole on the rear suspension mounts. I wonder what the norm was for the majority..
That paint turned out well. Was it a shake-shake can? If so what kind? I need a good paint for some projects I am working on. Also, it has been forever, but I know that is a Tamiya ball end on the rear camber link! This is my first post so a big Texas hello to everyone. This has to be the bestest site for vintage r/c!
Nice car...looks very "period correct". All the original parts appear to be on the car...which is becoming very rare these days.

Well, it "WAS" a nice period correct rare car. This is a perfect example of why these are rare these days. I guess Im old school but to me its just another died black belly button now. Everyone has one!
Some coworkers and I have decided that we want to race RC cars, and we are going to have a concrete slab poured big enough for a small oval track. When we get started forming that up I will get some pics.
Our weapons of choice are vintage RC10 pan...

Nice collection of cars there 8)
As for the battery tie down issue, for all my 10l's I use the Associated off-road battery cups p# 6334 - lightweight & inexpensive so they work great! You can bolt them to the chassis or just use 2-way tape.

I've been collecting Tamiyas for several years now and thought my collection would consist of them exclusively. Then a buddy of mine said he had an old r/c car he used to race back in '88. Of course I had to look into it! Turned out to be an RC10 in...

Thanks! This is a great hobby and I've dealt some very cool folks! I think it is great that we can piece together a buggy with parts from all over the world....
I guess an introduction would be a good idea. I haven't had an RC10...yet. I couldn't afford the cars my friends had in the 80's, so I've been building Tamiya kits since 2014. I recognize some of you from Tamiya Club. Some day I would like to have...

Hi everybody, I've been lurking here for awhile and finally decided to sign up. This is my original RC10 that I bought and raced in 1987. I would like to restore it to near original and get it running again. Right now I'm trying to find a set of...
Another child of the rc old school here. Getting back into this hobby after 25 years or so with a pandemic project (Kyosho Turbo Optima re re). I'm still in the process of acquiring everything I need but really stoked about the...

Well I've managed to score a re re worlds kit, en route now, and as a bonus the seller threw in a junker gold pan so now I may have a restoration project as well! I've read a lot of fantastic build threads on here so I doubt I would have much to...
