Grasshopper my dad found at a yard sale for 15 bucks, it didn't last long though. Then I got a Blackfoot with a stick radio a few years later.

I have a few blackfoot's they are pretty darn cool
Re: The first R/C control set you have ever owned
There's a guy around here trying to sell me a blackfoot for $50 I'm trying to resist the urge. I'm too tied up in my VONATS rc10 to mess with anymore projects right now anyway, and I always hated those hex dogbones stripping out

Ah see you will buy it now. Tamiya re-released the frog and brat. When they did they designed new standard style dogbones. They bolt right in the old blackfoot. I just got a set of aluminum wheels for mine. You can also get a lot of aluminum anodized parts from a guy on ebay that look really nice. You will get that blackfoot. You can't fight it.

Hitech Challenger 260 for me, still have it. Paired with a mechanical wiper speed control of course.
Not useable though, it was real easy to break the steering wheel travel limiters, then the pot would get all messed up. They were so bad that one of the hobby shop guys collected them, stripped the guts out, and used them for special projects. Did some pretty neat stuff, some educational stuff for a local teacher, built some semi trucks with lots of channels and functionality.

This reminds me of the "Did you read the rules" thread.... more like do you read any thread you post in?
My first radio gear was from Airtronics... not positive on the model from memory-- X2P, maybe? from 1985ish.
Futaba Magnum Junior immediately after, then a used Challenger 260.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
