To A&L or not?

Post by toolman72 »

I just started to restore another CE 6 gear but I would like feedback if I should put an A&L trailing arm rear set up on it. It is in really good shape, chassis and arms. Let me know what you think... :?

Why Not!, trailing arm cars are cool---is it a fiberglass chassis or carbon?

before you commit to altering the tub, take a look at doug's to get an idea of what it'll look like. just in case you don't really like it.

do you have the a&l shock tower and shock mounts to go along with your arms? if not, i personally wouldn't put the trailing arms on until you did.

Go for it! I love trailing arms.

Even the most modern "real" class 1 buggies use a setup just like that.

Great project. Please keep us updated on the progress. If you have any questions on cutting the chassis please give me a shout.

I'm jealous. I've been looking for an A&L kit for some time. I know they trun up now and then, but I always seem to miss them. Great project. I can't wait to see more.
If it isn't broke, I haven't driven it yet.

I don't care that it's new, so long as it's clean. I'll take a look. I was looking this morning and didn't see anything. I see we are not too far from each other. Are you doing any local racing?

i haven't raced weekly in about 8 years. i always tried to get to 1 or 2 races a year after that...... sometimes more. i just don't have the time these days to dump a bunch of money into equipment for it to sit around idle all the time. so, i don't even bother. the only race i did last year was the vintage nats in ct.
