Delta 1/18 Pocket Rocket

Post by pancar »

Digging through the garage and coming up with all sorts of goodies. How about a Delta CK180 1/18 scale Pocket Rocket form 1981. Bought this after seeing one in the wondow of a closed hobby shop somewhere in Iowa back in the 90's (Marshalltown, I think). Had to have one, Ebay helped out years later.

Came with a few spares and an early Delta brand ESC. Man, that thing is HUGE, of course it doesn't help that the car is so small. I seem to recall this being the timeframe that Kevin Orton was with Delta before his Tekin days. Anyone have more info if this is correct or not?

Thanks for posting the pics.
The early 1/18th scales are some of my favorite rc cars.

Glad I could share it with you. Now I need to dig through the servos for an S-33 to make it period appropriate. I still haven't cleaned it up, there is some tape goo on the chassis and it's fairly dusty. At least the tires aren't dry rotted.

Your Delta 1/18th is the most complete car I've seen in a while.

Tom,

Really nice complete Pocket Rocket. That is a great looking body as well. I have the exact same new built rolling chassis. I have the speed control but it is used along with a little black box that is about 2/3rds the size that I am guessing is also a speed control. They both have the Pocket Rocket decal on them. Thanks for posting pics.

I like the kyosho little sports motor in it. That's the same one used in the Kyosho 1/20 scale cars
