Ball raced steering bearing sizes

Post by Caine »

I'm buying one of these alu steering sets for my 10t:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Associated-RC-10GT-Blue-Bushing-steering-/200556470804?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb218e214

It says it has 5x8 delrin bushes now would this mean i need 5x8x2.5 bearings to go in there as this is the only size i can find that matches on avidrc?

I can wait if needs be but need to put in an order for quite a few bearings so wanted to get it all done in one load.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated :D

Just remember, running the GT bellcranks on a 10T will change the geometry a little bit. the 10T bellcranks were a little longer from the pivot to the ball studs than the GT.

Let us know how it works out.

Those will be too short if mounted on a RC10T causing bump steer problems without drilling new holes in the chassis. GT holes are much closer to the front bulkhead.

Hmmm i didnt realise this i thought the nose plates were exactly the same and that was why you could use the standard plastic gt bellcranks on the 10t. So if i'm gonna do this i gotta buy me a gt noseplate as i'm not drilling my 10t nose. Is there no other ballraced steering that will bolt on the 10t?
Glad i had some feed back from you guys before i went and bought the steering! :D

The only ones I seen is from MIP vintage stuff. I was using the stock ones on my RC10T Duratrax conversion until I seen these on Ebay.

I use an A&L steering and made a custom front adjustable bracket.
Just some of the options you can do.
