custom Late Edinger Rc10 **finished project**

Post by billetproofcustoms »

Hey guys, I finally finished this car! I wanted to give it my custom flavor, but keep it as correct as possible, and come up with a '80's era paint scheme, I think I pulled it off nicely...

replaced all the black hardware and the turnbuckle threaded rod with stainless steel, looks awesome, and NO rust!!
It even has matching Novak electronics and a stock Edinger label motor.

LMK what you guys think!.

because after all the time and effort, it probably won't sell for as much as you put into it, PLUS, it will more than likely be sold to a bidder which will flip it through it's ebay chop shop.

I understand building them and selling them for profit, but it's a very fine line with vintage r/c, much more so than vintage full size, because the chop shop likelihood is much greater.

Vaguely spammy- but mostly, Brian's response to your question was just plain funny-

If by "spammy" you mean that it happens to be for sale also, I made absolutely no mention or hint that it was for sale in my post, all I was looking for is some feedback on my work. nothing more.

Well, I am not into this one nearly as much as some others i have built, this one had everything except the wheels, body and electronics when I bought it, I just rebuilt and added what was missing. I try to find out where my cars go when sold, I do happen to know that the last 2 I sold went to good homes and not chop shops, one was purchased by a woman as a gift to her husband that was wanting to get back into vintage Rc, the other was a first timer that just loved the car. I am pretty versed on who is and could potentially be a Ebay chop shop, and I can simply choose not sell to them. Given what this car is, and represents, I will try that much harder to get this one into the hands of someone who will appreciate it.

Also, believe it or not, I picked this one up on craigslist for virtually nothing, and it didnt need much other than a full rebuild/restore, so I stand to make the most from the sale of this one.
Like many on this forum, I can t keep 'em all, I would be over run with a house full of RC's..lol

I think you did a great job with this. Especially loving the paint scheme! 8)
Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!
RC; Boats, Buggies, Trucks, Bash's, Racing and of course 'VINTAGE'!

With all the effort you put into it to make it period correct why did you put the wrong wing on it? Good luck on your sale you may get lucky.

Because the protech bodies are widely available and can be changed as the owner wishes with very little cost or effort. I concentrate restoration efforts on the chassis.

I build allot of vintage cars, and for me the fun is the experience of re-building a car that I never had BITD. I keep very few cars -mostly racers. I only have enough "room" for a handfull of special cars. I have no problem with what you are doing. -Jeff
