XX to JRX2 wheel conversion! :O
XX to JRX2 wheel conversion! :O
I'm sure its been done before... but so what! hehe...
Anyway, I just restored an XX. I was about to sell the original 5 spokes, but my OCD kicked in. So, I dyed them red, and wow! That just changed everything. I installed them on my black bodied X2, along with LXT front arms and bam!
The XX carriers use a smaller hinge pin, so using an 1/8" bit on the press, I made some room for the stock X2 pins. The carriers fit and articulate with no problems, and since the LXT arms are meant to work with the X2 bulkhead, its like they were meant to be.
The only problem now... I cant stand the old body. Time for a new project Heres some pics with Customworks tires and a new battery thats dying for a Dean's plug...
below are my impulsive, yet possible upcoming sale / trade items... i think, maybe?

Do you think the LXT arms is too wide for the X2?

its funny u mentioned that... im prepping a Proline truck conversion / XT to sell, and I think its best to sell it with an X2 chassis and 5 link, instead of how its built now with an XT chassis and Pro arms. so for this X2, im swapping out the chassis and rear arms, to a JRX Pro chassis and rear LXT arms
i figured to take advantage of the rear Pro SE tower body mount, using a Pro body, and beef up the arms for high speed street use. i have a Wheelie King body thats too short for the XT its on, so the X2 chassis swap should help out the scale. Im really just trying to narrow down all the stuff i have into 1 or 2 runners.
Last nite while tinkering, i found that you can use Pro rear A-arms with the 5-link system. This makes it more sturdy, while keeping the shocks in front of the tower. I'll post some pics in a few...

you shouldn't be able to use an H arm in the rear with the side links. The system will bind, at least it should with unworn parts. the two create conflicting arc paths.

As cool as this set up looks I did mine with RPM JrxT front arms 3 years ago and just got to try it out at the Vonats. its not a good set up to race the angles are wrong the car doesnt turn very well with the XX spindles and carrers. the jrx cars push anyway with thes parts it needs 10 foot lanes to turn. but I do really like the way it looks here is my Pro se

heres the JRX2 / T street runner project with both rear arm setups. the A-arms needed some modding, but it feels very stable, good for street racing. i should have taken close ups of the rear, next time...
