Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
Should I Keep this and build it up? or is it too old to be competitive on an indoor carpet track?
I was just curious.. it looks really cool but I don't know if its a buildable platform to dump alot of money on.
Thanks!

It won't be competitive against newer cars with drivers of equal skills, but it sure is a cool car

I think you should send it to me, I need a nice one in my collection
Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
These were never competitive, and Associated knew it, which is why at the back of the manual they include proposed rules for the DS in its own racing class. Just a stop gap until the TC3 was ready I think. However, its my favorite RC car because its fun to drive, drives so differently than 4wd cars, and people are always curious about these.
Looking at the pics, that has some nice hop ups, the lighter graphite arms, and rear shock tower, titanium turnbuckles, carbon fiber brace and front shock tower, and shiny cvds. Lunsford made a combined turnbuckle and hingepin package for this, is that on there? Put that hpi 2 spd on there.

Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
I'm not sure why this wouldn't be competitive against newer cars on a carpet oval? It's basically a pre-lowered version of an RC10, which is what most of us do/did to a regular RC10 or any other car for running carpet. Someone explain the advantages of running a new car versus an old one on carpet.
I'm not sure why this argument of "new cars will always better" seems to come up. Give me an old tub with some period oval parts and I will destroy any B4.12345 on the ozite.

if you are planning to compete with 4wd drift or 200mm class cars, it's a tough matchup. IF you plan to race oval, you can use the chassis and build it for oval racing and be competitive(though you probably would swap arms, etc).
rcresto gave you the link on what it's worth(forum policy), but I will say you should be able to sell or trade that car and get something better suited to the class you are interested in if it's other than oval racing.

Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
So Sorry about asking for the Price of it , like I stated I havent Found one for sale , I am working with a member for a possible AE TC3 Trade for it , Its in really good Condition , I put a simple HPI 15 Turn Motor in it.. Its such a blast to drive! but alas , parts are really hard to come by and I do race carpet at my local track and this thing does not keep up with the X-Rays and TC6s by any means lol.. I Appreciate all of your help , If the Trade for the TC3 falls through ill probably just sell it for 100 dollars or something to make my money back.

that will be a wise move, unfortunately, they are not competitive with the 4wd cars. A TC3 will be a great competitor however.
Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
Yeah I have a couple of people wanting to buy it from me , I may be getting rid of it sooner than expected. the TC3 looks to be shaft driven car , I know this may not be the best place to ask about it but are there any advantages or disadvantages of running a Shaft instead of a belt?

I like shaft better than belt. I have a Losi XXXS and you have to totaly disasemble the car to change the belt. its a real pain! and now they quit makeing it belts are not availible so its on the shelf.
Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
Yeah thats exactly how My sprint 2 is.. Pain in the butt but it was my first RC gift from the Wife so I cant get rid of it lol
Re: Should I sell this or keep it? RC10DS
The TC3 is a nice car and a great value for the money. I've still got my original racer and just bought a second one on ebay and its set up as a drifter. Also got a big box of parts in a nice storage bin for about $25 bucks so I'm set to keep both running for a long time. You can find a decent TC3 for $75-100 bucks.
The TC3 is a way more capable car but something about the DS appeals to me.
I think I've always loved those wheels
