RC10L2.5 UPDATE = FINISHED pics!

Post by PBR Allstar »

I've been hunting for one of these for a while and finally got my grubby hands on one!

The RC10L2.5 was the 235mm on road car that associated never built. Most of the 2.5's that were out there were L2's fitted with an L3 touring rear pod which was 200mm with the side shocks, most people would use a 235mm axle and load it up with spacers to match the narrow pod. There were however, a few companies that made upper and lower pod plates, and this is what I was really after. The only US company I know of that did it was PRC which is what these are (best of my knowledge).

Anyway, the car is really pretty basic I didn't do much, just cleaned it up a bit as it's been sitting since it was last raced. It does have a little racing pedigree though seeing as the last time it raced was with Patrick Bradford at the 2004 ROAR Nationals to a 6th place A-main finish

I have both an Andy's Sauber and a Hi & Medium downforce Protofrom Peugeot bodies to choose from, and it will probaly get a 17.5 brushless motor and lipo saddle.

Re: Finally got a proper RC10L2.5 *PICS INSIDE*

Post by rooster »

Please take a photo of the lower pod plate. I'm wondering what is the major difference from the RC10L2 aluminum plate. I realize the top plate is re-sized to fit a wide rear pod upgrading to dual side shocks that's is loosely based on a L3 top plate.

Thanks...

The lower pod plate is the same as the alloy 10L/L2 lower just made from carbon.

All done, and got to shake it out last weekend on the track. Package is pretty straight forward, 27T epic based stock motor, Novak GT7, and Gens Ace lipo saddle packs.

The car drove really well after a couple adjustments and I had it turning under all the 13.5 touring cars in open practice. It drove like an overgrown 12th scale with way more stability. Tons of Fun!

Do you know if the upper and lower pod plates are still available?
