My Cat Re Build ( Pro Cat) Runner!

Post by Mad Racer »

Well I'm not a Schumacher expert by no means but I have 4 Schumacher's now and slowly getting used to their designs.

I bought this 2nd hand Pro Cat from a my old mate Mario. It's not in bad condition but i wanted a few bling parts and after sourcing some nice Alloy motor plates, center piece for the motor, Shock stay. Camber stay, Upper deck all made by GPM & lastly a slipper clutch with a Wasp belt. ( A big thank you to Alex who sold all these bits to me. )

It's Time to slowly put this Cat back together. So I thought i will take a pic now. A new body set, undertray, belt cover and Pro Cat stickers has just arrived .

The only problem I'm yet to sort out is how to mount the wing. Do I need a different lay shaft for the slipper? Or can I adapt the slipper to the original lay shaft. Any advice would be appreciated.

For electrics i have a new 12t brushless combo, Digital servo, Li Po sadel packs. J.C racing 5 spoke wheels

Cheers

I remember a lot of cars back in the day ran wing mounts off the unused shock mount holes. The mount will sit horizontal not vertical as is the norm.

btw, baaaaaa-ling! That gold looks awesome

That's going to make a very nice Procat :) I've been saving up my alloy bits to make a bling CAT too, long way to go though.

Thanks guys.

I hate wing wire . This will be run so don't want the hassel that the wing wire, buttons & mounts bring. The egress/ Top Force set up will be my last resort . I have used S/Steel allen screws throughout too.

I have some ideas so i will look into it more.

Thanks for the tips.

Well i sorted out the wing mounts.

I used a set of XX4 wing mounts that bolted up to the alloy shock stay.

Made the front anti roll bar myself as these are hard to find and was pretty easy really.

Painted my new shell & wing.

Just waiting on the new alloy battery post to run li po batteries. Than when i get the ceramic bearing kit i will strip it back down and add the slipper set up .

Can't wait to run it. The only Schumacher's I have used is my Top Cat & Club 10.

Will post more pic's once fully finished.

It looks amazing -
Have You thought of either polishing the shocks or having them anodized gold?

Great build - I look forward to hearing how it goes 8)

Just a thought - I think it would look better on black or white wheels - those flourescent yellow wheels (& roll bar ball cups) kinda clash with the gold GPM parts & the yellow on the shell :?:

I agree, that's a great paint job.

It would look wicked with black dish wheels...
