pinion set screw is probably too small, but I used a square drive screwdriver bit and dremeled it down a bit and was able to use it to remove a set screw that holds the hex pin from a 1/8 scale axle...that and I used some Kroil oil...best penetrating oil I've every used.
another thing that I have done is used a donor allen key and applied a very small amount of JB weld to it and was able to unscrew after it dried...but it wasn't a set screw...so I'm not sure if this will work for you or not.
I am taking appart an old AYK Super Trail and a few of the very small hallen screws are stripped and rusted. I don't know the size for sure but it's likely 2mm
Do you guys use a stripped screw removal tool of some sort?
Anything to suggest?...

usually stripped screws mean that you have bad or poor tools. i recommend MIP products. I have had stripped flat allen screws before, have used Hudy drivers to take them out without success until I used the MIPs. They have very high tolerences. That...
My Turbo Optima re-re assembly was going swimmingly, yet just as I was hitting my stride around step 16, I hit my first real snag. If I address the problem now, I think it’ll mean tearing apart the whole front-end to replace the entire front gearbox...

Finally got those aluminum radio plate holder thingies - they went on a heckuva lot easier than the stock ones and actually eliminate that nut that I stripped. Very happy with that purchase. Pics attached. Now I just have to get motivated to finish...
Is there any way of fixing stripped holes in nylon or newer carbon composites parts? Like if it's cross threaded or has been overtightened to many times.

yeah, wax should work. I put a drop of oil on the threads, then wipe it off with a towel. the little bit remaining helps to ensure you can remove the screw.
I've had to do this numerous times with shock shaft ends when they pull out driving around....
It's all happened to us ... Oh I'll just snug up all these screws before my next run ... oops ...
Are there any repairs that work? With many of our parts nla or nearly impossible to replace like a TPS trans, what's a vintage guy to do? Has anyone...
Is there any recommendation for repairing parts where the nylon threading has been stripped?
For example, some the threading in my stealth transmission case where it connects to the chassis brace are stripped. The screws hold in ok but if I...

HI1... The brass inserts I use from Tony's Screws don't need to be heated up. You drill the stripped hole out to the required size for the insert. Then you press it in. That's it. I usually put C/A glue on the insert before pushing it in. The brass...
Does anyone have any special way of getting those tiny screws out of the idler gear (in a 6 gear transmission) once they are stripped? The allen wrench seem to be good and sharp, it worked fine on the other gear, so it is the screws that...

Well, i got them out.
I heated them up with a soldering iron. You could see the ca glue boiling out. Then I was able to un screw them, even with the stripped screws.
The main screw for the steering bell crank has a stripped hole in the 10T nose. Any suggestions to fix it? I thought about peening it over a touch on the threads and then using my special locktite.

you can try using a center punch and punching around the hole, maybe....5 times or so? then use locktite.
