A new boat for the dog

Post by shodog »

Like I really needed this but I just couldn't pass this one up. It's a beautiful boat made of wood made by Vietmanese craftsman toiling under harsh conditons and probably not making more in a day than my can of coke cost from the vending machine. But in any case here is a pic

and here's more

i just wanted to say that boat is beautiful congrats on the nice buy.

any plans to make it rc? is it possible even without totally ruining it? i had one a while ago i tryed to convert but cracked the fiberglass, lost about 10 chrome peices while running it in the water, and scratching the bottom on a branch? in the water lol

That is a nice piece of work. I could not convert it. It is too awesome.

This one looks like an easy install for the electronics. There is a hatch that opens

The area is big enough to install the motor and drive shafts as well as the radio gear and battery.

This is my second boat like this. A while back I bought this one with the intentions of making it RC

But once I got it, I realized how hard it would be to convert so subsequently it sits on my fireplace mantel.

No doubt man.

We took one of the afternoon lunch tours out in the Intra coastal last year. There was a Chris Craft came up from behind us in one of the channels so I got a real nice look at it. It looked like a Capri or maybe a Riviera. I am not sure. I could not get over the sound that V-8 was making. It was beautiful.

We have a boat show here at the college once a year and the students show their craftsmanship and a few locals bring in their vintage wood. It is a nice event. This whole place is all about some water and college feeds on that big time.

This was our 8th year doing it. The turnout was great and there were a bunch of boats on hand. Here is a pick of last years show for this years promotion.
