Hahaha owner said we had to 8)

Anyone ever driven one? I did....once. And a tracker. Sure a long way off from the ultima they were based on. Funny how that series worked.

That's what my daughter use to race before I got her a Slash. It was a good buggy with the exception of the turning radius. It couldn't make any of the turns on the track with out having to make it a 3 point turn. I've been thinking of reviving that car for her and trying to make it turn better.

hahahaha. Her outrage was great with the esception of the turning. If it turned better than she could have had a chance at keeping up with everyone. The only other thing that was a problem was the stock shocks are junk. I have been thinking of installing new shocks, rb5 hubs to mount modern wheels/tires, and then fix the steering. I bet it would do ok then.

That's cool. I remember being a kid with a rc10 and the neighbor bought a ultima and immediately got a graphite chassis for it cause that's what Joel Johnson would do hahaha. It was an OK car but when they started going gold shocks and stuff they were a pretty decent car (OK, the trans was so-so). Just funny how they spent all time developing (for example) long arms yet went back to short ultima arms for the outrage. I guess its just funny to me that they reverted back when they could have made it better for the same money. Another example is the shocks, they do suck! But the old black kelron shocks weren't the worst shock ever and probably held a similar price point. And they already had them. Boggles my mind lol

They probably had a bunch of left over parts sitting on shelves and decided to use them.   I think some decent shocks, wheels, tires, and possibly Ultima arms would be would be great on an outrage.

Hmm. I actually search Outrage and Tracker on ebay sometimes. To me, its a cheaper way to pick up Ultima Parts. The Ultima I built up started life as a dirty, well used, ebay trash outrage.

Now look:

Just source some towers, shocks, and chassis. Race car for far less. :D

Nice! I wish gold shocks (hell even duratrax) werent so valuable now. I need a couple sets for a rocky and a slingshot

Good points on the parts swappage

But this one will stay in its box where it belongs

I have a saved search for "outrage" on Ebay. Just in case a good deal comes up, just because they are decent cars with some work.

I had one of the nitro ones (Rampage?) with the little OS .10 engine in it. It was somehow more fun after the suspension parts wore out and everything wobbled. Plastic drum brake was pretty useless; it didn't really stop the car, just suggested that it might slow down a little. I usually stopped it by spinning it out.

That stock sticker sheet has to have one of the ugliest color combos I've ever seen. :o

These cars can be made to be decent runners but it takes a lot of work. That's the fun part though, experimenting with mods, etc.
