Kyosho Le Mans 240E??
I've just acquired this vintage motor, which is in very nice condition. But I'm pretty sure I've never heard of a '240e' before?
Does anyone know the spec of this particular one?? I'm imagining it's a more frugal version of the 240S?? It's a modified type with adjustable timing.
Cheers!

Re: Kyosho Le Mans 240E??
240E Was never listed in any Kyosho catalogs etc. or at least I have not seen it on them and I have seen "a few" of Kyosho catalogs both Japanese and English. It would be nice to know even something about 240E winding, is it single double, triple or quad?

Re: Kyosho Le Mans 240E??
Never heard or seen this motor before, could it be some type of prototype motor from some 1:12 championship in the mid eighty’s? The E indicates endurance type of motor…

Yes. 240 and "E" are an oxymoron, a 4 minute endurance motor? Very strange!

Re: Kyosho Le Mans 240E??
There only one answer here...
It a bootleg motor!
One of those crazy fakes that defies logic...
Is it a helicopter motor like the ap-29?

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't think we'll find the answer to this one!
Naushad, pretty sure it's not a helicopter motor, as its a standard 540 size can.

This is a airplane motor. It came mated to a gear box on the Kyosho Valencia glider. I also belive it was also sold as a power system (motor and gearbox)

Well done Urban Hype, I'm impressed! Next question, what is the wind?urban hype wrote:This is a airplane motor. It came mated to a gear box on the Kyosho Valencia glider. I also belive it was also sold as a power system (motor and gearbox)
Also, will my Optima Mid fly if I fit it to it?

Sheriff
I had one of these motors many years ago. I cannot remember what wind it had. Unfortunately I think you will be disappointed with its performance. These airplane motors seem to have different properties than the car motors. Even the lower turn motors seemed to perform like a silver can motor in a car.

Re: Kyosho Le Mans 240E??
Morning to all. First post here so I'll make it a useful one. I was lucky enough to obtain one of these motors recently too. The seller listed it as an 18 turn motor. I know for sure that it is a single wind of .90mm wire. I compared the armature to a 240s armature and they look about the same. At a guess I'd say it's a 19 turn motor. Most likely it's the same armature as the 240s to save time and money. It also has bushes instead of bearings. Chris.
Chris.
