Re: Super Champ Survivor
Wow that cleaned up really nice. It definitely had little use as the front and rear bumpers are unbroken

Re: Super Champ Survivor
That cleaned up really well. Did you have to replace any parts? It doesn't look like it had much use.

Wheels and tires were replaced. Front tires were dry, flat spotted and fused to the rims. They were built backwards. Rear tires were flat spotted.1300GT wrote:That cleaned up really well. Did you have to replace any parts? It doesn't look like it had much use.
Everything else was just cleaned up, didn't even tear it all the way down. I stripped and repainted the KC's and was able to save the stickers. Re-attached the window netting and painted the driver figure. The guy must have used a tube of white silicon to waterproof the gearbox, I scraped the excess off the edges but didn't risk breaking anything, the clear covers did not want to budge.
Added a receiver and battery which I have not tested.

Thanks Jimshodog wrote:Wow that cleaned up really nice. It definitely had little use as the front and rear bumpers are unbroken
Yes, a few light runs. I was shocked when I saw it, guy brought it out in a box with another car on top of it. Looks like it received more damage being stored then run.
Until you try to paint a face you don't realize how small they really are. Your Rough Rider's blue suit driver figure is amazing.
I still have to paint and install the dash.

Very Cool! I also dig the mechanics of the vintage stuff!
What is the function of the zip-ties on the front suspension 'arms' ???

Re: Super Champ Survivor
WOW Very nice. I owned a Rough Rider but allways wanted a Super Champ. As far as I can recall, the tie raps are there to prevent the two suspension arms from popping out of their sockets.

That's awesome, I'd love one of these, just curious though, how did you find it by accident?

Re: Super Champ Survivor
I can't take all the credit. A guy in Italy namedFabrizio who also painted my wild willy driver also did the face for me. I painted his helmet and body. I too was amazed at the skill. You can actually see the guys eyebrows.RC10resto wrote:
