Nice job Dennis - don't see blue on an Astute too often, but picks up the shock caps nicely

Indeed, congrats on deviating from the box-art. I like the paint job, nice flowing lines, matching blue on the shock caps, stripes & wing...and I know it's just my opinion, but a wing painted to match a body just completes the model somehow.

Hi everyone,
Thought I would say hi as I just joined this forum while I was restoring my vintage RC10.
I really like the look of this buggy and pretty much anything that is vintage from Tamiya, Kyosho, Associated, AYK etc...

So i have contacted the guy I sold my original and early CAT XL to recently - turns out he still has the car, which he modified for carpet racing bitd.

He has dug it out from storage for me to have a look at - i would love to have it back to...

Very nice. The Schumacher fitment ones are really shallow dish - especially the fronts to make sure the car remains within the 250mm width limit. It always amazes me how light they are.

The second gen of the Mid family would have to be my favorite. It had enough changes from the original to make it unique in my view. The upgrades included thicker anodized chassis, adjustable tie rods, front and rear swaybars, fiberglass shock...

I know this is probably going to get a bit looked down on but it's one of my favourite none Associated cars. I have a mint box and instructions and they are getting a bit rear in un run condition.

Thanks guys :D , there are a lot of Astutes around but not many in really good condition.

Thats becuase most had the snot beat out of them. It's kinda the same way with RC10's a good used one can be had for under $100, it's the new condition stuff...

I have had this kit for many years now, as well as all of the hop parts that are being installed. Finally have some spare time to build this buggy. Yes, BUILD it.

First of all, I realize that the Tamiya Astute was an over/under engineered buggy...
