New product on the way.....

Post by Dynotech Racing »

I've drawn up and will start programming a new Dynoetch part for the old/new RC10 champ car.

It is a new gear box that will bolt int he stock 8-32 holes in the chassis. The trans case will be machined from cream nylon and will need no mods to fit in the stock car.

It will let you also use the stock motor plate with no mods.

It will be the basic same size and the stock 6 gear unit, but with a twist. All the internals of the box will be available at your LHS. It will use stock associated outdrives, stock idler and the stock stealth top shaft. It will be basically all GT gears in a buggy box(made to look like the stock unit).

***2.60 internal ratio****

It will handle the power of the brushless power avaiable these days. You wont need "custom" gears or stuff that is hard to find.

Not sure if it will be popular, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Not sure of cost yet, but understand it is machine/ setup and run time that you are paying for, not a piece of plastic, material cost is very little of end cost to user.

Will use late model slipper assembly that is still available from associated.

Should have first box done buy the beginning of next week.

Thank you for your interest in our other products.

Chad

That will be very interesting!

Personally I would have expected a b4 diff, to keep the gearing "modern", not to mention to keep the outdrives lower in the box, but there are a lot of truck diff components out there and this sounds like a great idea! I look forward to seeing it 8)

Yes this does sound like a great idea. Build a sleeper for the track.

Problem that the MIP Change Box had (similar design to what you're planning) is that the outdrives were raised up higher, which made the dogbones a little too short.

Might need to create new hub carries that raises the wheel axle to compensate...or maybe you could go for a 2.4 trans case using B3 parts instead?

should this be moved to the re-re section? It would be nice to keep all these things together.

Chad, it sounds cool, but I'm wondering to which extent the re-release of the stealth box + internals that we highly suspect is coming in the next weeks/months might not hurt your sales volumes on this... I know we aren't talking the same thing here, but with the wider availability of modern parts for a 3g tranny that bolts on to the older + re-re cars, I'm thinking maybe that'd put your sales at risk here.

I'd hate to see you burnt and leave us like Chris Rec did :(

Great idea! Should be better than a stealth trans. The gt and the b4/t4 use the same diff but different top shafts. I will definitely be purchasing some

Oh right on, that's how far removed I am from the new stuff. I thought buggies still used a smaller diff gear which would let it sit lower and provide a taller ratio

As I said before, I think it's a great idea!
