ReRe Scorpion build pics
Couldn't pass it up, and I'm glad I snagged it. Complete opposite of the RC10 ReRe, the fit and finish are unbelievable.
I'll take some detail pics as I build it. The first thing I saw that blew me away was the markings for the front axle etched in the metal. Very cool!
I know many will not like this, but I appreciate that Kyosho kept the old school drive for the wheels too. Oh, and they still say "Sand Super" too

Here's the slipper disassembled, the discs lock into the metal pinion. Looks like it should hold up very well

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Do you mean to say the axles still have the tapered "spacer" with knurled side to contact the rim???
I look forward to this build. My original childhood Scorpion is my only non-Associated car

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Yup!
Comes with some cool tools too, no need to mar up the shock during the build

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
It looks very nice up close!
I wonder if any company's will be doing hopups for the Scorpion?
I really want to race mine (I should have it by next week) and hopefully be able to run 2.2 wheels and modern rubber with 17.5 brushless.
Doe's anyone have pics of fully hopped up Scorpions from back in the day?

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Correction, not a taper fit! It's a screw pin, which should leave it open for a pin and hex adapter to run modern

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Nothing to take a pic of, but I had read another owner had binding issues in the dogbone. I had the same, it was hideous. I loosened all the pivots, and re tightened while holding the arms at maximum toe in, then loosened and re tightened the trans. It's perfect now, no binding at all

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Sorry Dennis, but my guy at the shop not only called me right away but also offered it to me below any price I couldnfind anywhere! I couldn't say no.
I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I have completed the kit now. There really wasn't anything notable to take pics of that weren't posted elsewhere. I will update when I get the electronics installed and some paint on it. I have to run this one.

Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Kyosho themselves announced and showed a whole stack of hopups some time ago - including carbon fiber parts and strengthened chassis rails. The Ultima RB6 ball diff will drop right in, too.dj_kilroy wrote:It looks very nice up close!

Thanks for the info.. Looks like I'll be spending more money after I get the kit. Re: ReRe Scorpion build pics
Those will work great for my buddy's car, or possibly a solution for people looking for aftermarket AYK Buffalo/Bobcat wheels. Cool!gomachv wrote:Correction, not a taper fit! It's a screw pin, which should leave it open for a pin and hex adapter to run modern
