Lexan paint removal

Post by logikfive »

I'm sure I've read it somewhere, but I can't remember for the life of me what is safe to use on them without hazing the lexan.

I know Castrol Super Clean is a good product to use on plastics, I've used it to strip paint off many plastics (Tamiya hard bodies such as the Mountaineer lid/white parts, nylon RC10 parts, etc.) with great results, but never tried it on lexan.

Is that something that is safe on it or should I look for something else?

I found that Brake fluid will attack the plastic and leave it cloudy

And if you leave it in there too long, it will break down the lexan to the point where is has millions of small spider cracks and it literally falls apart.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

what is the suggested technique to use the nitro fuel to take off the paint. im thinking fill up a container and soak the body in there but they would use tons of fuel. would a rag dipped in it and laid in the body work? then put it all in a bag? i have no idea any tips? thanks!
peace, gamma

I just put a little bit of fuel in a bowl and use a paint brush dipped in it to gently scrub the paint off.
