New guy here could use help

Post by acrazyjohnny »

I'm trying to fix my old rc10 nds. It was the first car I built 15 years ago.I cannot find a CV axle or even a dog bone for it.

Thank you scr8p I appreciate it. But wow $35 for one shaft. I have been getting shafted (pun intended) buying parts for this car.people are ruthless on Ebay. Selling parts for more than double with the original price still on it. That was what new cv joints for both sides were selling for when I bought this car new not a single dogbone..From doing some research I have found some have said they have used a hpi rs4 cv shafts. But all the ones I have found look to be long ( have asked a few sellers to measure havnt got a response). My dogbone are 1.5" c2c and about 1.75 total length might go to the local hobby shop and see if he finds anything I can use or if he has any rs4 parts.

$35 should be for the set of axles with bones attached. Universal's. Not bad considering how long ago there were made. Ds cars have a following and are relatively rare, so expect prices to be high now. Maybe 3-4 yrs ago it was accessible but things have dried up.

$35 is the retail price from a 21 year old catalog. Seems like a great price to me. I’d love to be able to buy most of the other parts for retail lol.

Oh, and that is for a pair.

O wait crap  I thought that was just the single dogbone . I searched googled ASC 8869 bunch of irrelevant stuff came up. only 1 relevant search result came up which happens to be another set for 35 as well .I overlooked that it was the CVD shafts. I already ordered them. Thanks for clarifying tha scr8p

Here's another set in case anyone looking aswell

After purchasing both from the links in this post, I was refunded for both purchases. These are now I purchased a single dogbone for the DS. I'm modifying the rear using sc10 rear knuckles/hubs to use longer axles. Found a few possibilities some are aluminum. Those have me worried. That and the fact they are made for a 1/18th scale meh

These are hard to find. I'd gladly pay $35 for a pair. If you're open to other options, I believe an RS4 cvd dogbone, associated CVD axle, and AE B4 hub with a drilled out hinge pin will work, but be like 10mm wider. I'm going from memory on the parts, so there is a possibility I didn't recite the parts list exactly right.
