#4 RC10T build “Classic Carbon”

Post by KidAgain »

New project in the works going carbon fiber chassis, towers and batt strap. Aluminum/titanium hardware will be used throughout, threaded FT shocks will be used also. Body has been chosen which I will unveil soon as the rolling chassis is complete same with wheels (vintage RPM’s). Lots of new and used parts will go into this build since I’m having a hard time finding arms and stuff.

One thing I need is some opinions on transmission choice.

1) Carbon fiber TrackMaster belt drive
2) Carbon fiber TrackMaster direct drive
3) Thorp 64 pitch Stealth trans
4) Stock Stealth trans

Sounds like it's going to be a great project. I am not familiar with either Thorp or Trackaster, so I can't help you out. I do know that you can't go wrong with Factory Works, MIP, RPM, or Stealth transmissions.

That is looking really sharp so far! The carbon fiber and blue aluminum looks classy and clean. Are those Blackfoot tires that were on it?

Decided to go with the TrackMaster Carbon belt drive and run a 13.5 brushless setup.

Didn’t really feel like making a carbon rear trans brace so I made these turnbuckles connected to a bridge on the trans.

Also changed the steering to the AE bearing version mounted in the forward position.

It looks like it's coming together nicely. With a 13.5 it should rip.

The body is a TBG Nissan king cab I purchased from eBay seller ‘teambluegroove’ you just have to raise the front and rear body posts just a tad.
