RC10GT #7075, MIP stuff and box art look

Post by vonBraun »

This is a GT I found in Switzerland of all places!

It was up for auction on a classifieds page for a low starting price and nobody was bidding on it
So I thought I‘ll just quickly sign up and put in a bid.
But it wasn’t that easy…
To sign up you had to authenticate your personal information by having a letter sent to your address. So I had to wait a whole week for the damn letter to arrive, while the auction ended and went back up every two days
But in the end I could put in a bid, that got me the truck

I had hopes for the original parts and engine or at least a manual to be in the box.
The original unused Pro-90‘s and three good white arms was what I got.

Anyways I am really happy with the truck, the engine and the parts on it. The 360 Stinger is my favorite exhaust setup, the shiny CVD‘s and the 3n1 clutch are almost essential. The MIP flywheel is a bonus…

Already painted a Jconcepts body for it and cleaned it up. Going to post some pics soon…

Got a question about the Dynamite engines:
What is the difference between the .12 SPD and .12 TNT?
I like trucks and I cannot lie

This is how she looks after rebuild.
Still missing some white parts like the right front arm, right rear suspension mount, rear body mount and spur gear…
I also deanodized and polished the stinger pipe because I didn’t care for the purple. Not sure if everyone is going to like it, but I sure do. 8)
Just saw a stinger kit sell for almost 100 bucks on eBay

Truck is about 80% done, I think…

Can someone tell me why the pic always gets jumbled up?!

Very clean and simple truck. I like that style build a lot.

As for the picture, are you taking it in portrait mode, Tall? I’ve noticed when I take them like that is the only time I’ve had them flip on me even after editing them to landscape.

Also the TNT engine was Dynamites basic standard engine and the SPD was the upgraded Paris Dish piston design engine that made a little more power.

Thanks, man. Looking at your trucks, I think we have very similar taste. Your builds always look great :D

I always take pictures in landscape format. But maybe I whipped my phone out to quickly and the sensor didn’t get the orientation right. Anyways, I can’t seem to fix it.

Great info on the Dynamites, thanks.

I‘ve got so many questions about the vintage stuff that I can’t find an answer for…

Here is the next one: is there a round-style head I can put on the CV-X?
I know about the gold O.S. one, but can’t find one. So I am looking for other options, but can’t seem to find any…

Any CZ .12 head will bolt onto a CV .12 engine. The main difference is the bolt pattern is rotated 45°.

Sorry just remembered this truck had a blue head .15. Not sure what would be compatible there.

O'donnell/Duratrax made a head that fits the .15 CV series, but again not the easiest to find

The body turned out pretty nice for a runner. I procrastinated for a few weeks, then I just winged it one evening and did it in around four hours. The only thing bothering me is that I overdid the shading around the windshield.

I tried to find the right shade of red, but couldn’t get any info about it. So I did some paint samples and settled on a coat of Proline candy red for a slight metallic sparkle and backed it with Parma/Fascolor Burgundy. I‘d say it‘s pretty close to the box art.
