Best Liquid Mask product?

Post by GreenBar0n »

I'm thinking of ordering and using Bittydesign liquid mask. Is there a better choice available today for RC bodies?

Done with tape bleed and poor curves:

Thanks!

Bitty design works good but only with water based paints. Chemical based paint seem to react with it and it doesn't peel off then. Proline is also very easy to work with but I have only used it with water base paint as well.

Thanks! Looks like it's sold out everywhere, possibly out of production.

Thanks for the reply. The video shows them using it for lexan bodies though:

It is out of production. The factory literally burned down.

absolutely not Spaz Stix unless you enjoy pain and suffering.

Also most airbrush paints for rc bodies are waterbased Acrylic. It's the spray cans you need to worry about.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

I'll be brushing this Bittydesign Liquid Mask on, unless there is an affordable airbrush kit worth recommending that I should purchase.

I'm using Tamiya poly carbonate spray paints, entirely throughout.

Any more guidance you can give me, I'd appreciate.

The Proline stuff sprays on nicer and peels way easier than the bitty design.

What about this airbrush kit? Is there a better one in this price range?

Just ordered the Pro-Line. Thanks! Do you use this with a brush or air brush?

Something like this?

Would you say that's better for liquid mask/RC paint, than the airbrush kit above?

What compressor do you use?

Thanks!

I use this air compressor https://www.amainhobbies.com/paasche-d500-compressor-w-r75-regulator-pasd500sr/p35280

And I have been using this airbrush.

And I just use a full size compressor for the mini hvlp.

Would you say in your experience that the airbrush, or the mini-HVLP gun, would be best for RC bodies? Thanks @mikea96 !

P.S. The Proline Liquid Mask is on the way here.
