Can someone point me in the right direction as to a good set of snap ring pliers that fit these shocks without modding? I bought a set at Harbor Freight with multiple attachments but non worked for me. Thanks

Hi all. I am attempting to rebuild the shocks for my CE and I don’t have any replacements for the snap rings that go in the bottom of the shocks. Does anyone have a source for them? Thanks!

so im trying to rebuild the 6 gear tranny and removing the snap rings from inside the outdrives is proving near impossible with the tools ive been able to get. Is there any tool that i dont need to modify to make work. I've tried harbor frieght's...

so i was going to drop 4 bux on a bag of mcmaster-carr orings for my builds, and i cant get passed the material comparison page

wondering if anyone has tried anything besides the Silicone, seems other materials have better wear, resistance to shock...

Anyone ever have any luck removing a retaining ring after both ends are broken off :shock: I have the shock gutted so there is plenty of room to maneuver just no way to pry it out. I've broken a couple xacto blades trying to snake under one end and...

Might seem barbaric but I actually pried the washer out underneath the clip first (which mangles it a bit but I can push it back into shape), then the clip comes out nice and easy :mrgreen:

i built up a sort of a world's using a combination of parts i already had, and parts i ordered. anyhow, in front, the endlinks on the shock rod, where they attach to the arms, seem to have too big a circumference, and rub on the arms as you can see...

Yeah if you look closely at the two together you will see a small ridge around the new white shock rod ends. You can just trim them up a little with a dremel or sharp knife. They definitely affect the suspension travel on the wide front arms...

How compatible are the parts from the original bottom load shocks with the black cap top loading shocks?

Can I use the earlier gold caps from the bottom loaders on the top loaders?

Will they work work with the black o'rings from the black caps?...
