I think I have an old RRC magazine with the ad.
Awesome history lesson here!! Never knew where it originated!

Here's an advert from issue 1 of Radio Race Car (Early 1980). I think this would be the original MK1.

This photo is from late 1981 and is the MK3 with carbon axle.

I'm still not entirely sure which version i have, but i'm leaning towards MK2...

I think there were more development stages between the very first Schumacher diff and this one what is called MKIII.
Maybe some of the stages just were running changes as there were more than the two steel axles and the graphite axle.
I remember I had a yellow fibreglass rear axle too. Other changes were adding an o-ring to the wheelhubs so the sleeves were even more fixed and centered.
Also the sleeves were changed later to maybe half of the thickness of the older ones.

I've given the car a good clean and refitted the electrics and bumper as i received it. I think this is as far as i'll probably go with restoring this one. I like how it's an old racer and looks like it was used in anger for quite some time and how it's been modified through it's years of use. The only thing i'd probably like to get to complete it is a matching futaba reciever to the Futaba FD16M servos. Then it can spend it's retirement on my shelf :D

Thanks :) One of the reasons i bought the car was that the shell looked good, a bit rough from racing but full of character. Actually, does anyone know what make/model the shell is?

A little avant garde for some, the right side is a kind of plain, Image
always wondered who the painter was, can't quite make out the signature.

Definitely a Schkee body but I'm not sure which manufacturer. They were made by MRP, Parma, Bolink and most likely more around the world. I don't remember any of them having front fender flares like yours.

Can't really tell if it has fender flares but maybe Jerobee Schkee.

Thanks again! Those two bodies look very similar that's for sure, except the indented bit above the front bumper. Mine has more of a triangular V shape than them, but they are very close.

I don't think his is a Jerobee. It doesn't have the two gas caps.

Here's the full size version.

I have a SG Schkee so at least one more manufacturer.
