Airbrush recommendations

I have a ton of lexan to paint and need to get a good airbrush. I'm lookng for what you guys are using. I want internal mixing so I believe that is a 2 stage or dual stage...something like that. I've heard good things about badger and the LHS carries paash, badger and testors but want the experts advice. I'm not lookin to spend a ton of money with a cap of pry around $150 max. Thanx in advance.

do NOT under any circumstance, by a paasch or badger. ONLY get a iwata, or a iwata clone.

i have something similiar to this, maybe this exact on.. the needle is between the common .2 and .5, so its in between at .3, nice detail

Just curious, what is wrong with badger airbrushes?

I've heard good things about the Paash too. Whats wrong with them?

if you walk into any art store, chances are anyone that works there and airbrushes professionally will say that those 2 brands in particular are not up to snuff. honestly im not good enough to give you a valid comparision, but most airbrushers at cfxpaintworks.com use iwata or iwata style

i have had my paash for probably 10 years and still going strong. never any problems with very good results. but the next one i buy will be an iwata to try out.

im not swaying anyone either way, i just know anytime you watch a youtube airbrush video, its typically a iwata they are using.. just seems to be the cadillac of airbrushes in the field in general

The Iwata is very nice, but I was never very good in art class. I've had a Paasche for years and it's always gotten the job done for me, but then again, I don't get too elaborate with my paintjobs.

If Iwata makes a single action, go for it. I got a double action Iwata for about $65. If you are pretty experienced with airbrushing get the double action. If not it will be easier to paint with the single.

I use Paasche VL and VLS from 92, and no problems with them...

Paasch VL-set (dual action, internal mix). It works for me. Obviously I don't have the skills to do up the 1/2 naked axe-wielding cave women on the side of the van . I just want it to be somewhat flexible, clean up easy, and work every time I pull it out to use it, which isn't very often. The box says Paasch is made in USA since 1905 (that's over 100 years) if that means anything.

Thanx for the replies guys. I'm not gonna be getting too elaborate but want the ability to be able to. I'll have to do some more shopping and comparing. I have a guy locally that showed me an Iwata and I liked the feel of it. Really solid and he has been using it for pry 15 years with no problems. Neighbor has a badger and has problems with heavier paint and really needs to thin down his faskolors which in turn weakens them imo and his thinned down paints seem to chip easily. Did like the ability of the badgers adaptor to fit right on the faskolor bottles.

I have the paasche H-set, single action internal mix. I've never had much luck shooting faskolor stuff but I love it for pactra. I still use mostly rattle cans, but if I want to do some highlights, or other shenanigans I'll get it out.
