CALLING ALL EDINGER EDTION RC10 CARS ONLY PICS/INFO
THIS POST IS FOR EDINGER RC10'S ONLY. would like to see how many of us on here own this rare peice of r/c history well first off i bought mine off ebay around 10 years ago knowing nothing about edinger at all, all i knew was i have always wanted one since they were just a really cool looking car plus the old ads i would see as a kid kinda helped a bit also lol. the only reason i bought this one was it was cheap, ready to run and looked pretty clean in the pics. when i bought it, it was missing the org body and wing prob helped with the price now thanks to SCR8P for pointing me in the right direction on this great site i just found out like 3 days ago i own a early edinger edtion rc10 with the BOTTOM A STAMP. now besides it not having the orginal body and wing it is pretty much all orginal and correct. well opened up one shock doesnt have the notch piston

There are tons of the A-stamp Edingers around, I myself have 11 of them including 2 new in box still unassembled. I fear you are going to have quite a few posts here.
I would rather like to see a post to see how many have the rare "No stamp chassis and early lower rear shock collars, original fiberglass battery straps, dual-clip transmissions, hard clear gear cover, notched pistons, etc..." of the earliest 1st Edinger RC10's like the "Curtis Edinger" in my signature below, named after Curtis Husting since he hand painted the body way back then in 1984-85. These are quite a bit rarer to see!
I think there are 4 or 5 of them here on these forums.

1 early one here built from NIB- plus 2 like you have pictured
Re: CALLING ALL EDINGER EDTION RC10 CARS ONLY PICS/INFO
I have 1 3/4 early both rough the 3/4 one has the parts dyed red
ps. mikenice you have a nice rc10 there, but I believe the coined name Edinger was given in reference to the early rc10s (not yours but I could be wrong.)

Here are some pics of my early Edinger, also have a late one that looks a lot like a Cadillac car but it has the correct box, manuals and address on the motor.
Re: CALLING ALL EDINGER EDTION RC10 CARS ONLY PICS/INFO
Were the Edingers only ever stamped on the bottom of the chassis? I have a gold chassis as part of a kit (unsealed) which came in an Edinger box but is stamped on the top side. I wonder whether the box and the kit are from different eras?Ruffy wrote:There are tons of the A-stamp Edingers around...

Ive probably owned 15 rc10's. 2 early Edinger's and 3 later, plus Cadillac ave, and black chassis cars. Ive never seen one stamped on the bottom. Ive seen the stamp press so hard from the top it left an indention in the bottom. But none actually stamped from the bottom.

I have a question. What are the 7 rib "Made in Italy" tires? Were they associated kit tires or aftermarket CRP or some other brand?

The front and rear tires on these so-called "early Edinger" cars were most probably coming from an AYK supplier as you can find the "Goodyear" tires on the Buffalo and a few other models. I never heard that they were made in Italy though, where did you find that info?

I have 2 sets of 7 rib fronts that say "Made in Italy" on the sidewall. I'm thinking they may not be Associated tires. Actually if you look at the pics of my car that I posted. Those are the tires in question. Those I bought on ebay NIP and I believe they were CRP and I recently picked up another used set.

Here is a picture of my late Edinger. No slot spring retainers, white idler gears, small shock gaskets. Edinger address motor, box and manuals.
