I've got a futaba magnum junior, and I'm wondering how old it is. I googled a bit and have come across a few people saying the first two digits of the serial number indicate mfg date.
This doesn't make sense to me, since I think this particual radio was made in the late 80s-90s. It's not the older style one, it looks like this:

I have one of these (silver wheel) too from '84-85 and I thought it was the newer version of the first posted pic. I could be wrong... those college years killed alot of brain cells.
Old, leaking batteries corroded the terminals terribly on my Futaba Magnum JR. I pulled the body apart and everything looks ok but both wires broke from the terminal where they connect to the small pill with the terminals. Anyone have experience...

I don't ever recall seeing a Futaba Magnum Racer from Great planes, were these from a different country? Just won a car on eBay with one. The designation is the same as the Junior

I got this from Jeff Harris earlier this year when he sold off old gear from a hobby store that closed. I used it in my gold metal shelfer build along with the Tekin 411-G2 ESC
I'm looking to start a build of a vintage dirt oval EDM car, and was hoping to find a Futaba Magnum PCM FP-T3PB radio to go with it. Does anyone know of any leads on one that's in good/working condition? I see them pop up on eBay from...

Thanks all for the information. So is it correct to say that there’s no issues with running 75 MHz, it’s just more prone to conflicts?
There are no issues with it. Anymore, the chance of having someone on the same channel is extremely rare.
