Start your engines...

Post by askbob »

I've been thinking about starting this thread for quite awhile since it seems there are a lot of gearheads here, myself included! I love any motor from the classic pushrod V-8 to insane brushless motors. I especially love performance boats and skis. Jetskis are probably some of the most fun I've had in the past few years. I'll post up a vid from a couple of years ago if I can find it. There is no better feeling than doing triple digits on glass. 8)

This Wankel sounds like it's never gonna end. Listen past the brief music.

if you can't see this vid i'm sorry, i'm new to the whole..... uploading videos to youtube. don't know if i have settings right.

i had this short vid in my phone for about a year now, and for this thread, i figured i'd try to upload it. this is a 68 442 w-30 we built, just firing it up to pull it outside. it doesn't sound bad, but it's better once it warms up and the damper on the left manifold opens up.

I'm not sure of the boat in the first vid. Unbelievable sound though. This one is pretty amazing too.

Nice 442 Olds. I always had a soft spot for a nice Olds or Buick. Lots of power with class.

It's workin' now. I remember the time I accidentally uploaded a few of my private videos. PETA wouldn't stop calling me for months... Not to mention trying to explain it to the in-law's.

Thumbs, were you posting vids of your "heavy petting zoo"? Lol!

Pretty cool scr8p and bob!

My pop is an engine builder so we spend most of the summer babysitting on the weekends. This is one of our sponsored cars

I do the wiring for a good friends drag car, it started as a 99 mustang, then added a blower, then backhalfed it. Then went to a big block and front halved it. Then went turbo. Then twin turbo. Last time it was on the chassis dyno it maxxed out the dynojet at 1500 wheel hp. Not sure what it really made but it was still climbing. Best at Vegas was 7.62@188 iirc. Now he is lightening it-cutting the body and firewall/floor out and going full blown chassis car. Pretty crazy to see this transformation in just the last 6 years 8) when it first went off the street and into a drag car I rewired it from scratch and have a big job re-re-rewiring it again in a few months. Here is the current pic as of a few days ago.

7.66@180 is the best run I could find a video of, this was with the single turbo. In qualifying your just racing the tree so he tends to leave a little late.
