YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

Post by sludgeguts »

Thought some of you would like to see one of my latest purchases. I've always loved the look of these old Yokomo's but it's only been very recently that I've added a couple to the collection (I've also bagged a nice original YZ834 B that I might show you at some point).

Anyway, onto the YZ10. Bought for a very good price (by my other half as an early birthday present for me :D ), with a mountain of spares (check out how many wheels I got with it  ). So far I've given it a good clean which involved getting rid of nineteen year old servo tape (lovely) and serviced the dampers. I managed to get a pre-painted bodyshell off Ebay the other day for it so that'll do for a runner shell and the original unpainted shell that came with it may well get a nice custom paint job on it in the near future.

Jobs to do include the fitting of electrics. It came with a motor, an Epic (I think) Shark attack 13 turn which I'll keep in. I may well go with another colour with the wheels too and I need to fit the undertray and new shell.

Onto the pics:

With that many wheels and tires you're simply obliged to make this a runner and use it!

Oh yes this will be a runner Mr Ed. :D I've read good things about these so I'm really looking forward to giving it a good run once the weather here warms up a bit.

I've run both the YR-4 and hotdog. The drive train is really super.

I believe it's an original shell Dan. Someone has started cutting it out on one side but other than that all is good with it. The price sticker on it says £25.95 :D

I really like the shell on it, looks old school baby lol. Ah, you have some foams on rims, lucky devil, i need to start hunting down donuts, got a few cars i want to have some foams turned on to rims for. Anyhoo, this looks a lovely YZ, good spec, very clean.

Cheers ralphee. Yes the shell on it does look good. It's a bit battered but will do for running. I've got that many wheels and tyres for it I've no idea what I'll do with them all.

A little update for you :D

The shell was bought as is. Looks really nice. A TBG undertray has also now been fitted. Fit isn't that great but it'll do and some more colourful wheels have just been purchased. Still need to sort electrics and a few other bits so quite a way to go yet.

I thought I'd seen that design somewhere before, 59burst :D . I think there's another member here with a very similar design on a YZ10.
