I wasn't real sure where to put this, but I figured here would be a good place.
I've found that a good polish for lexan bodies is Arctic Cat Hood & Windshield Cleaner/Polish for snowmobiles. I've cleaned up some pretty good scratches and scuffs using a micro-fiber cloth and light polishing.
I have a pro-painted Customworks Camaro shell that was really scratched up from someone trying to remove some price tags, or discount stickers or something- anyway...Meguires' headlight restorer works wonders with heavy damage as well
i am teh suck when it comes to painting bodies... i can trim and mount them killer, but when it comes to painting them i always blow it at some stage of the process...

I did the polish thing and I always said I wouldn't.Also dyed the parts black.When I painted the body I left the sides clear so the advertising would show with the polished chassis. . .

Anyone have some helpful hints to accomplish this? I don't think I could get the same results. Well, let me stop there and do some searching out here but think a How to Polish would be a good sticky!!!
Get yourself 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500 grit...
I got some alloy pieces that have noticable machining marks that were revealed after some deanodizing. straight polishing just takes way too much effort to get shined up so I went to a sand paper first.
At moment, it seems like a 500 grit is enough...

If the part is flat where you want it to be polished, use a whet stone.
Something higher than 800 or 1000 grit to polish it and in a few minutes you will be as smoooooth as Rod's butt! :shock:
